ok wondering about the "feathers" in Neytiri's hair, as far as I know no animal had feathers on Pandora (correct me if I'm wrong). Your thought  :-\

Le'eylan, I love your edited pics so much! ;D One can see everything in one quick glance. ;)

I did notice the feathers many times, but never actually wondered about them. It's true that their presence is a bit difficult to explain though, now that you guys mention it! :o

Presumably Pandora has a whole plethora of creatures that the movie doesn't show--plus, we have the Na'vi word for bird so I'm thinking the feathers came from those. ::)

Oe mllte!

Yes, I've thought about that but I didn't remember (or better: didn't notice) Neytiri's feathers. The feathers I was wondering about are the big ones from the "Ceremonial Bow".

Le'eylan

What I know, she only have two different "sets" with feathers in the movie:

Wouldn't it be cool if the feathers weren't from birds, but from fish?  :D Or something else out of the ordinary. I have a hard time imagining a sparrow flitting around Kelutral.

Or a mushroom with feathers  ::)

Some of the "feathers" used for fletching looked like they might be fish fins, but the ones in Neytiri's hair look like the real avian deal.  Of course, you could also have aquatic birds, like penguins. ;D

I don't know which one is right, but I trust Pandorapedia more. And to me they don't look like feathers..

Quote from: Avatar WikiWhen wanting to avoid battle, hammerheads will raise a large "fan" of brightly colored feathers on the top of its head.
Quote from: PandorapediaTitanotheres also possess a series of brightly-colored skin flaps with rigid, chitinous backings that can be raised when confronted by an adversary.

In that case, I would believe Pandorapedia over Avatar Wiki...
But doesn't Eytukan have feathers on his "olo'eyktan clothes"?

Le'eylan

I wouldn't call them feathers...
I don't know, I've got another picture that I couldn't find now, and in that, it looks more like some kind of leaves.
