It seems, then, no one thought that the language will become real.

why, was it published before the film came out or something?
or before the language evolved?

I think, for both reasons. And do not forget, the majority still thinks that there is no such language. :(

The language was evolved in 2005. There were complete script translations very similar to current in 2007.. but this

the majority still thinks that there is no such language. :(

In my opinion, is the author's imagination. Нe considered: Does it matter what kind of gibberish invented, as long as it is gibberish.

BTW I think we should contact 20th Century Fox and buy the rights to the ASG and have Frommer amend it. Bad Na‘vi does not deserve to be official imo.

Easier said than done. Obtaining the rights to that would be a nightmare.

A company can own a script, as is, but I do not think they can own word, certainly not the grammar and properties of a language that can be learned and used for thinking and expression.

* Tsmuktengan reading this topic, thinks he could improve his name or give it more sense.

Fully obtaining rights would of course be really really hassleful if not expensive. We don't want to fully obtain the rights in the sense that we begin to own all the trademarks and all the royalties now go to us, but only the right to publish a new edition with credits to 20th Century Fox and all trademarks still belonging to them. Same way like some old classic textbooks get chapters added as new science comes out by completely unaffiliated people.

I've always wondered if there was a mechanism to do delta-patches on paper easily. This way I can just publish a modification to ASG, i.e. the delta between my version and the official version. This way I don't need to buy any rights and you still need to buy the ASG to read my version. Oh well...old bad paper...

For instance would we ever see a name like Txewì te Payoang Ateyo'ite?
Is this an error or not...?

No, I just screwed up. That would be "correct".

No this isn't yours .. :P

Txewì and Ateyo are both male names...

I don't recall names being exclusively male or female as far as we know.  I thought Txewì was a female name, which is why I used 'ite instead of 'itan.

...and it looks like we're starting to stray off-topic here ;)

whats a delta-patch?

"Delta" means change, so I presume a "delta-patch" would be a "patch" for the ASG that only contains changes. So you'd still need the full copy to make sense of the "delta-patch" since it would be of the form "p. 47 emend second through fifth words, fourth line, to 'ikrantsyìp'." Not very helpful unless you knew what the second through fifth words were and their context.

RPG companies put these out all the time as PDFs; they're called "errata." If enough errata have built up to be worth printing on dead trees, they're usually integrated into a revised edition.
