Let me throw this question out though:
If they do make tsaheylu while *ahem* mating - and tsaheylu literally links their brains together, why did Netyeri not see or sense what Jake had been sent to do?

I'm not picking fault here, I'm really looking for someone to give me a logical explanation.

It's only what they are thinking at the moment that gets passed along ^_^ And no worries, no one is angry at you.

... Hate to point this out, but there is more to the Na'vi society than their queues during sex.

Perhaps a new aspect of their civilization, such as their emphasis on the balance of all things? Their spiritualism regarding the ideals of give and take, of ebb and flow? Just some food for thought, just seeing what else we can talk about ^_^

I think we all want to talk to him. Even if it is just to shake his hand and say 'Irayo!'

Now that I think about it though, I would say you're likely correct in your interpretation of tsahaylu between couples. It's probably just select ideas, emotions or memories that would be transmitted. All the things that make you love someone.
