Na'vi Tongue Twisters - aylì'u leNa'vi a mäkxu ftxìti
« on: December 04, 2012, 04:11:37 pm »
Kaltxì ma frapo!

Even the topic title seems to be a little tongue twister itself - aylì'u leNa'vi a mäkxu ftxìti ;D

Well, since we got a topic for Na'vi proverbs, I thought a topic for Na'vi tongue twisters would be great to have, too. For practice, for challenging/improving your pronunciation skills or just for fun or whatever :)

We already know the great "prrkxentrrkrr" (thanks to Skxawng), but imo we need moar tongue twisters! :D

So please feel free to create own new tongue twisters, post here the ones you already know, speak them out loud and just have fun :D

I'll start with a tongue twister I just created, more or less senseless, but yet challenging, imo ^^

Pximaw kxamtxon, txepìl ylltxepä tsìk nolekx kxetset atxur peyä nìtxan.

I know tongue twisters are usually a bit shorter, but if you create/post long or short ones doesn't really matter, I think ^^
Searched the forums, didn't find any topic similar to this one. And if this topic might be in the wrong sub-forum, please feel free to move it.

Edit: Corrected the mistakes in my first tongue twister stentence.

Kosman nìtxan :D

Though I can’t think of a tongue twister right now, I know that I came across a few. Sometimes it’s just because of speaker preferences. I, for one, have the most difficulties with ronsrelngop in fast speech. For some reason the combination /sr/ + /l/ + /ng/ does it for me :P
No wonder, I think that it changes (almost automatically) to ronsrewngop :P

I remember that I had fun with the phrase a ta pukapa kllpxìltu in one of my recordings for my blog. :D

Pximaw kxamtxon, txep ylltxepä nolekx kxetse tsìk atxur peyä nìtxan.
That should be … txepìl ylltxepä nolekx kxetset(i) atxur …, I think ;)

Good idea! I remember I created hard to pronounce sentence in Na'vi proverbs thread, I'll try to find it and post here. Also, there was some thread by 'Oma Tirea, where he published some words or sentences for training pronunciation and some were really mad :) But I don't know where. Will do some research....

Ma Plumps,

ngaru tìyawr, irayo si ngaru :)

Haha, yeah, I can understand that very good; ronsrelngop is just one of the many words that I have problems with still, whether I try to speak them out fast or not :D

Ma Blue Elf,

please do so if you find the time for it, I'd love to read and try it :)

This thread has some nice tongue twisters, read out as well! (I think you meant these sentences, ma Blue Elf?)
I tried yours and it's quite weird having the kx and another kx following it. Sounds like I'm choking. xD

Srane, those are what I was speaking about. Thanks for being faster than me :)
And here's my tongue destroyer from Na'vi proverbs (not too hard, IMHO):
Ftxey ftxìlor ftxey ftxìvä', tìlam fkxenä lor lu.
Oe lu skxawng skxakep. Slä oe nerume mi.

Ah, yeah, you're right, thx for the link :D Found the thread months ago and remembered that it exists while writing this thread here, but I couldn't recall it's sub-forum or topic-name ^^

But imo it would be nice, if there were even more aymìnyu ftxìyä (as Plumps called them), kefyak? ;)
Just because, you know, tongue twisters are fun  :P
