The majority of the 'sympathetic' occupants of the 'hells gate' complex stayed behind on Pandora to study, explore, learn and generally have a good time. The RDA was given a good spanking and told in no uncertain terms to stay home. I think we can agree that these are facts. Question that occurs: What kind of impact would this have on the 'resistance' back on earth? We know that there is a superluminal transmitter somewhere on Pandora, so the scientists / avatar drivers would be able to get messages back to the home front. Word would get around that the RDA got kicked off of Pandora by a former marine turned Na'vi. No amount of propaganda would squash that story - it would become an urban legend. I wonder if this would spur the resistance into action?

Kifkey Eywa'evengä is a long way from Earth and very few have made the trip. Things that far away and inaccessible sometimes might not real be enough to many people to be a reason to act.

i would agree, other than Unobtainium (which by the way just bugs the heck out of me) is worth, what was it? 20 million a kilo? if there is going to be an Avatar two and three, there is no way the Na'vi have seen the last of the RDA.

Yeah. Somehow, I think Selfridge will make a reappearance. As long as Quariitch doesn't, I'm happy.

Maybe there's a Hell's Gate type complex on the other side of the planet?

Well, word has it that Quaritch is returning somehow. And he most likely won't be happy.
See that shadow? It's the last one you're gonna see.

Getting shot by two 5-6ft arrows with neuro toxins will make anyone not very happy :D. Anyway he shouldn't be revived, he most great villian but he looked toasted and should stay like that.

All I heard was that the actor who plays him wanted him to come back. But they better not make that happen. That would be extremely cheesy and contrived.

Maybe Cameron will roll some serious cheese and have Quaritch's identical twin show up on the next ship.

I think I would hiss at the screen for that!    :D

with stem cells and a fast enough reaction time (picking quatrich up and putting him in stasis) and especially with no monetary restrictions  it is very possible that he could be brought back through legitimate means. it won't make me happy, >:( but in the world of avatar earth scientists should have this ability given the resources.

For any of you mass effect fans out there need i remind you of project Lazarus, which by the way as i was typing this i just got why it's named that.

Problem with that would be that there were most likely no "allies" nearby who were able to get him into a cryo pod (the closest thing to stasis we know of so far) fast enough.
The cryo system we know of is in orbit onboard the Venture Star and while nothing speaks against a second system in Hell's Gate there'd be way too much time gone before they got him there. The aircrafts where either destroyed, shot down or retreating head-over-heels (I would if giant bats were attacking in great numbers).
Second there were no soldiers (lest alone medical staff) nearby when Quaritch found the link shack and got killed. So the overall chances of him surviving are not even small.

We're talking about bringing dead people back to life. That has to be a taboo even for super-high technology.
Besides, if that were possible, they would have brought Jake's brother Tom back to life. He seemed really valuable to them, a PHD that trained for years, on whom they spent so much money.

Even if it were possible: why bother? Why should Quaritch be so valuable to them? They can replace him with some other military leader. There's nothing that makes Quaritch better at fighting Na'vi than anyone else.

like i said it wouldn't make anyone happy (story conflicts and the like) but they could try to raionalize it. Besides i think the guy who played quatritch just wants another big paycheck. :P

I have to take issue with that blind assumption. "That actor" (Stephen Lang) did one hell of a job. He certainly enjoyed his character, and a more likely explanation (without scouring the internet for silly things like "facts" to support my claim) would be that he had a great time, and liked working with a genius like JC. He is already set for a "big paycheck," being "THE" (main, only, most memorable, most talked-about) villain in the biggest movie--EVER!! He can name his own price for any role this year. (He can also name his own price on Priceline.com--but that is a matter for Captain Kirk, who as not in Avatar.)

Now, as to bringing him back (the actor, "Stephen Lang," not the character, "the colonel") this would be an interesting challenge that JC would have to approve, as Avatar made sooooooo much money that FOX is not in a position to dictate what will and will not happen in A2, or A3. For all they care, JC could have Barney the purple dinosaur on screen for 2 hours, as long as the movie makes money. But the colonel should be dead. AMP suits have a "walk back"  feature, so if the colonel's suit was not too mangled, it walked him back to HG probably before the onslaught by the tribes that were en route during the movie's "final battle" sequence. The colonel was almost certainly unloaded and packed on ice. Now, what happens after that is a matter of speculation. As Dumbledore once told Harry Potter:

"Dead is dead, Harry. There is no coming back."

And as to the SLT transmissions. The RDA knew what hit them (and how) even before Hell's Gate fell. So did the resistance. Will it matter on Earth? Yes. No more unobtanium. No more sucking off of the corporate teat that is the RDA. Stock market panic (the stock market functions on rumors, greed, and fear--never on "facts"), and RDA propaganda spin. It will make life on Earth "interesting," for a time. but I guess that will be 1/2 of the fun of A2. How this affects the Na'vi is anyone's guess.

Maybe when they try to bring Quaritch back to life he changes into a zombie ( lol ) And kills everyone on the ship, ship crashes into another moon/planet.

But that the ship crashes into another moon/planet is possible, without the zombie part, RDA ship breaks down somehow and crashes into another moon/planet , a few survive , they try to make the radio and call humans for help and in the mean time , they find something important , like an cave with the ancestors of the Na'vi in it....... But then the movie wouldnt have the Na'vi from Pandora , which sucks

Well I hope you realize that would make no sense at all. Na'vi are nowhere near the technology to get to other planets. So there's no way their ancestors came from another planet. And Na'vi very obviously evolved with the animals and plants of Pandora, since those all have queues too and Trees of Voices to connect to them. If the ancestors of the Na'vi came from elsewhere, then so would the ancestors of all the animals. And what would be the odds that the Na'vi could still breathe on Pandora if they didn't evolve there?

Wait, wait, wait . . .

You are on to something here (horribly off topic): zombies movies are great. So Quarritch is a zombie--kills people, ISV crashes into moon. They send out distress signal which is picked up by--oh you have to get this already! Hints: Sigourney Weaver? Movie directed by James Cameron? marine corporal hero? "Selfridge-looking corporate bad guy?" Trudy-esque helicopter pilot? No one can hear you scream?

That's right! This time, instead of us visiting the "Aliens," they come to "our" distress call. mayhem ensues, no na'vi are harmed in the making of this (unrelated) movie, and that is just fine with me. We need no more dead Na'vi children. A1 had enough.

Okay, so back on topic . . .

I hope we get a lot more of earth sometime. from what i have read in the ASG it sounds like a great setting for spin-offs or even a main part in the movie.
