I was wondering... in the movie, when Jake says: "Up ahead, was Pandora". I was looking into the moon and i thought: "jesus, it looks like the earth!"
I was looking for images on internet but i haven't found any good image. Even so, i decided to put two images here:
One from Pandora, the other from the Earth.

PANDORA

EARTH

Aren't them similar one each other?

The 2007 script says that Pandora looks surprisingly like the Earth, or something along those lines. It probably would have to in order to support life as we know it (and Pandoran life seems to fall into that category).

It does kind of make sense, because from what we saw in the movie, Pandora's water looks like ours, it's plants roughly look like ours (they're mostly green), and it's clouds look like ours.

So that would lead to their planet looking like ours....if you get what I mean. From such a distance, you wouldn't be able to see the differences (i.e. floating mountains, different creatures).

And also, the Na'vi survive a lot like how we survive, by breathing air, eating food and sleeping in shelters. From my reasoning, I think that the planets would likewise be alike, the same as our race and the Na'vi are very alike (they look exactly like we do except for the blue skin, noses, tail and height).

Grr, that doesn't sound right, but I don't know how to put it in words....  :P

I can't rememver where I read it or heard it, but I think originally Cameron wanted a place that was far more alien, but he changed it as he wanted his audience to be able to connect with the Na'vi and the planet and thus empathise with how they were both under threat, so he made the Na'vi more human and Pandora more Earth-like...

...or maybe I'm making that up  ;D

has anyone read something similar anywhere or am i just losing my mind
Only a heretic brings a gun to a swordfight

No I've read it somewhere too. But is makes sense. Audience would feel more for the Navi's and Pandora is everything was somewhat alike. So yeah.. here the reason why they look so similair.
