Eysamseyu can probably beat him after a little training  :D

Doubt it... I mean, I'm only 20 years old, and this guy is almost 60.  He's got 40 years of study over me...

I know one day I'll be able to MAYBE match the talent that is Neil Peart...

But for now, I get to learn shuffle rhythms and how to play the Steel Drum...

Congratulations, ma Eyamsiyu!

I used to live in Rochester, NY, home of the Eastman School of Music and many fine musicians. But for some odd reason, 4 out of 5 of my friends who are musicians there are drummers. (Here in Reno, one in three friends are airplane pilots.)

I have another friend John Williamson of 'Tigertouch' www.tigertouch.org who is very interested in Bonobos for the reasons discussed here.

I am going to guess N/T/N, principally because the Green Bay Packers are the greatest football team of all time.  :)

Stylin' in the sweater vest, bro. I like it.
I would say T/T/F. Because the first two are so specific.

Fixed. ;)

I don't do sweater vests.  ESPECIALLY not at this time of the year, or when that picture was taken.

Hehe. I could see why. A sweater vest is a sweater vest, 'nuff said. Still, the emphasis was on stylin'. Tuxedo vests are nice too...

Now some questions that I always wanted to ask you:

  • Nga tsivun 'eyng fìtìpawm nìNa'vi nìeyng srak? (All faults copyrighted by me)
  • What's your favorite RHCP album? ;)
  • Wasn't you the one who wanted to move to Europe? Well, still planning that?
  • I guess you play in a band, right?

And please aaaaaaaalways remember this... ::)

Not going to lie, ma Hawnuyu, I had to use the dictionary on that question ( :o ), so to answer such, probably not.  Or, should I say, "Kehe."

I can't narrow it to one single album, because most of my favorite songs in general are more "funk-like" than "rock-like," and ALL of their albums have songs like that on them.  I can certainly say that, without a doubt, my favorite song is "Can't Stop."  ;D

Yes, my intentions are to move to Europe.  I was told recently that immigration laws are starting to mimic those of the U.S., so it may be very near impossible,  depending on which nation I move to.

Well, it depends on your definition of "band."  I currently do not play in a "garage band" of any sort, but I am a current performer in a jazz combo at my university.  And also the Global Rhythm Ensemble as well.

And I will always remember that.  ;D

Remember that once you've got into the EU it's very easy to move around even if you're not an EU citizen (I'm not sure how it works with residency though). I don't think it's that hard to immigrate here in the UK although it would be easier if you were Canadian (or from another commonwealth country), that said you should have it easier than a lot of other countries what with the special relationship.

I think I already know the actual answer, but I believe, on my mother's side, there is an aunt who lives over in Europe, and I'm 95% sure it's the UK.  And I'm pretty sure my mother, though she lives in the U.S. now, still maintains her Canadian citizenship.  Any way to take advantage of this?

And I'm glad to hear that, once I accomplish moving there, it will be a lot easier.  So, with that said, I'll keep my eyes and ears open for what goes on with the immigration laws in various nations there, and work out how exactly to get there as pain-free as possible. :)

I wouldn't think there's any way to use your mother's Canadian citizenship to help, to get any relevant information you'd probably have to go to the Canadian embassy/consulate. As for it being easy to move around, it's still not completely open if you're not an EU citizen (or even if you are), IIRC, the French recently deported a ton of Roma so they can eject you, the problem is that there's not much they can do to stop you just coming back. (of course, remember that I'm no expert on immigration law so you should check with someone better informed before you do anything.

Ah, tslolam... Well, I don't plan on going through Canada to get to Europe, but rather if I move, I go straight there.

I don't plan on moving to France, so I doubt I'll have that problem.  Rather, I want to move to a place that will be a good musical atmosphere (maybe even down to certain genres).  With that said, not only do I have to study what certain countries' processes are for immigrating to the countries, but also what cities/areas have a good atmosphere for musicians.

Which is why I'm so glad to be part of a great forum as this one.  Making friends from across Europe will help a lot to find where would be best to move to.  Not to mention that, having not been in a residential situation in Europe, I'm sure they would be able to help guide me in what to do and what not to do (especially cultural "signs" and such).

... I will say quickly that the previous paragraph made it seem like I would just "use" friends, and that is not the case, so I apologize for the wording in that paragraph.

NIMO.  Friends are for support, and to help pick you up when you're down.  Friends are for being able to discuss topics you may not be able to talk about with other people (I.E. Parents, or your boss).  And finally, friends are for being able to share the fun that is life!

You've never seen me REALLY pissed, BTW.  I've scared my brothers so badly they wet themselves...

The good thing about that is it RARELY happens.  Almost never.
