A fedora? Can this get any better?  ;)

How about red Chuck Taylor's?  I didn't wear those though...

I'm more surprised you're wearing an actual tie and not that t-shirt with a tie printed on it :P *runs and hides*

Because ties are absolutely amazing!  They are what keeps people's heads from falling off during the day. ;D

Hehe. Printed tuxedo t-shirts. I have yet to own one.
But if you wear a real tie, you can show your friends how to tie it. Many of my friends don't know, so they never untie their tie after someone ties it.
And how many times have I said tie? Answer: a lot. ;D

Eyamsiyu

There are multiple ways to tie a tie, but the one that everyone should know is the Full Windsor.  It's associated with business and "class."  And honestly it's the only one I know. ;)

I know that there are at least 4 ways. I don't know which one I know how to do, but all I know is that Id rather have a triangle know than a squarish one.

Eyamsiyu

Well, a Full Windsor, if tied loosely, can form a square, but the trick is to tie it tightly: if you can, it forms a small triangle.

Also, slim-ties are quite good looking these days. ;)

HRH xD

I know how to tie a bow tie, but I've never tried it.

It's amazing how much this conversation has morphed... Hehe.
Onward!
Slim ties are pretty cool, because you could wear them with more casual clothes.
Now, technically, you could wear any tie with anything, but I've never seen anyone come to school with a bow tie. ;D

I have: my Biology professor last semester.  Never wore a tie EXCEPT for that day, and because he was being evaluated for something.

But? Do you know anyone that would show up in a T-shirt and a tie? Because I do. Actually, I am. :D

Depends on if the tie is tied or not. ::)

Kxeyo

I guess my first gig will include ties for every band member after I read that conversation. ;D

By the way: What do you guys think of Bolo ties?

There are exactly 85. I used to tie a four in hand (schoolboy knot) because it's easy and I can never remember how to tie a half/full windsor, now though, I've learnt to tie a Pratt knot which is symmetrical (like a windsor), but uses less length and has fewer steps to remember.

85 ways? Who could even think up all of them?
I can't think of 85 different ways to do anything.

kewnya txamew'itan

Two mathematicians investigating triangular random walks? Only four of them (windsor, half-windsor, four in hand and pratt) were known before they proved there were 85 and documented them all though.
