Nusumea Tirea

Quote from: Question #1Who are you?
Kaltxì ma smuk!
Oeru syaw fko Nusumea Tirea, here on 'Rrta I'm known as Jörg. I'm 43 years old and I live with my wife and two dogs in a small town in Germany (almost in the middle of Europe). I draw my pay as a System analyst for a data center company where I design, build and implement system monitors (in various languages but most of it in perl) to keep our systems under control  ;)
I speak German (who would guess) and English. I'm working on Na'vi, one day I will get there. With my trusted dictionary, I can decipher middle Egyptian hieroglyphs.

Quote from: Question #2Why are you here?
Curiosity brought me here, and all the nice people and the love of the language keep me here.
First I just saw the film and wanted to know more about the background. So I looked for Information and found learnnavi.org. After some weeks of just watching and working my way through some of the Documents I finally decided on a name and joined because I really fell in love with the language.
You know this feeling when you really have to have something? When it feels right that you should do something? Well, So I joined first the forum and then, when it started Project NgayNume.
I really think it is a great community and great people here so I try to be here least once a day for approx. 1/2 - 1h, mostly reading.

Quote from: Question #3Where do your alias and profile pic come from?
I just finished the avatarized Version of me, so yes, that's the real me on the pic.
I picked Nusumea Tirea, the learning Spirit because I'm always curious about things. And I always want to learn new things. I just hope that curiosity won't kill the cat  :D

Quote from: Question #4Srak nga tsun nìna'vi pivlltxe?
srane, oe nerume mì NgayNume slä oeyä kì'ong numeyu.
I'm not the fastest learner on the planet (that's age to you) so it will take some time till I'm good enough. But one day I will get there. My surroundings are either totally baffled (how can you learn a language that's not real) to enthusiastic (wow, that really is a language, where can I find more information). I don't care about the first and I don't know what came out from the last one, but one of my coworkers started to greet me with "trr lefpom"  ;D and they tease me to do log files in it.
At the moment I use the dictionary (lookups), Na'vi in a Nutshell (more lookups), NgayNume (new words and most important speaking), Seed of Language(initial training) and jmemorize (repetition, repetition) as learning resources, depending on what to do.

Quote from: Question #5What's you favorite Na'vi word? Did you incorporate it (or others) into your everyday vocab?
I like the explosive sounds, so atxkxe is clearly one of my favorites. srane, irayo and Kìyevame are starting to creep in.

Quote from: Question #6In your opinion, what are the top three user-created content on the LN website?
There are far too many good things which deserve to be mentioned. So picking just three is very hard and probably unfair to all the others, but if you insist I will pick those which I used most so far.

Taronyu's dictionary
NeotrekkerZ's Na'vi in a Nutshell
Tirea Aean's Project NgayNume

Quote from: Question #7Have you made any contributions to the LN community that you're particularly proud of?
Unfortunately nothing so far, but I'm working on it.

Quote from: Question #8What is it that you liked/hated the most about Avatar ?
I really love Avatar and how it manages to touches the heart and soul. Those parts of you which knows how things should be but aren't any longer. There is only one thing which I find a bit sad. It was just far too short and can't wait for the sequels to come out.

Quote from: Question #9Has Avatar  changed your life in any way?
Reading the Spoiler makes me grin.
Yes, I have long hair and sometimes I wear it as a long braid.
As I do shamanic things for over 10 years now, do spirit animals count in bonding to animals? If yes, sure, I do that. And talking to trees and all kind of other things. But as there was no need for it, Gaia isn't on my contact list, yet. As I'm not blue on the outside, I have gimped my photo to get an idea how it might look. But it hasn't really changed me. I already feel sometimes like a Na'vi, surrounded by sawtute who can't see!

Quote from: Question #10If you could ask Frommer or Cameron three movie or language related questions what would they be?
-> Cameron & Frommer: Can you make it possible to get a Na'vi only soundtrack on the movie in the sequels?
-> Cameron: What do you think about the Community here ?
-> Cameron & Frommer: Will there be input from this Community in the sequels?

Quote from: Question #11What else do you do in you free time?
Free time? Where can you get that? Is there some left?
Normally you'll find me spending the time with my wife and the dogs, work on my old house (You don't believe how much work this is sometimes), building a yurt, doing shamanic things and reading a lot. Every second week I'm game mastering a small star wars group.
If I'm in the mood I try to relearn to play my Celtic harp (Too much time without practice and I wasn't good to begin with).

Quote from: Question #12Name your top three favorite Earth animals from most favorite to least. Why those? What's the animal you're most terrified of?
Owls     I just like them. Silent hunters from above.
Wolves   A kindred spirit.Just great social animals
marten   They know how to make fun of things

I'm most terrified of humans. There is no animal more dangerous or capable of more cruelty to his surroundings than our species. But no, I won't run away screaming if I meet them *grin*.

Quote from: Question #13Pirate, ninja, zombie, or robot?
A Na'vi, definitely a Na'vi on Pandora without any superpowers. More  the shaman / healer type than one of those ninja samsiyu.

Quote from: Question #14What three items would you take to a desert island and why?
Does family count (1 wife, 2 dogs) ? Yes, OK done deal.
No? well then... (I assume there is some source of water, wood and food)
I would take:
- A set of good tools for wood crafting
- A set of Books about Fauna and Flora of the Island
- Fire starters

Quote from: Question #15If you could travel to anywhere in space and time (including fictional universes), where would you go and why?
Pandora would be a first choice. But only if I can be a Na'vi. Even if that means my dogs mutate to nantangs and get hands. But fortunately there would be no fridge so that's OK.
Otherwise a similar setting with no overpopulation, people living close to nature and lots of nature and enough renewable resources for living are fine. But please without professional politicians and managers.

Quote from: Question #16If you were granted one single wish what would it be?
Get everybody a Queue and a frequent tsaheylu connection to 'Rrta. That might change something, if it's not already too late for that. I think if everybody could feel whats happening with 'Rrta, that would make a difference.

Quote from: Question #17What is a question you'd ask yourself? How would you answer it?
Why are you here on 'Rrta and what are you doing here?
I think there is something to do for me. Some kind of task I have to do, something I have to learn, otherwise I wouldn't be here. But what that is, is part of the learning.

Quote from: Question #18True or false?
- I lived in an bronze age village for a week
- I went to free climb training and got the equipment just to paint a wall of my house without ladder
- I got the Blue Ray Version of the extended Collectors Edition without having a Player for it.

Quote from: Question #19: My Life is AVTRWhat is the funniest, weirdest, or most embarrassing Na'vi or Avatar  related thing that has happened to you?
The most funny thing was, when I was greeted by a co-worker with "trr lefpom" one morning.
He told me afterwards he also wanted to learn Na'vi and when he saw me looking at the dictionary he couldn't resist greeting me the next day.
So far some of my co-workers also came up with several suggestions to turn log file outputs into Na'vi only  ;D
Maybe I will take them up on it...

Quote from: Question #20: Bonus QuestionIf you had an ikran, what would you name it?
Well my Ikran is named Rìk *grin* He's big green and blue and floats through the air like a leaf.

Quote from: Question #20: My Bonus QuestionImagine you are a Na'vi and could choose where you want to live on Pandora (Forest, Plains, at the Sea, ...). What would you choose?

Dreamlight

You're corrupting your coworkers.  :D  This is a good thing.  :D

Conga-rats on being chosen.

Here is one. Sophie is a retired racing Greyhound from Ireland and Ben is a Belgian Shepard Mix. Both are from animal rescue organisations.

Yes, I think I look good, even with the tanhì still missing. But it was just too much work to get rid of the beard, So I kept it.
And thank you for your praise, but I think compared to others it's nothing. But it's a start and I will keep adding to it.

Cute dogs.  I'm glad you got them from Animal Rescue organizations.  All of the animals that own me were rescues too.  (And you will note that I said they own me as I should have.)

I'm going to guess
1.  True (because you look like the type who would be in the SCA or some similar organization.  Lady Elizabeta Maria dei Medici here in case you are SCA.)
2.  True (because that sounds like something I'd do just cause I like adventure)
3.  False (I'm not sure why ... maybe just because ... )

Beautiful dogs, Nusumea.

Greyhounds to make great pets, too, they're so gentle and good-natured.

There are so many animals waiting for a home.
As we control the ressources, my wife and I are the Alphas, but otherwise we are a pack where nobody owns the other  ;)

Unto Lady Elizabeta Maria dei Medici, Lord Jörg "the Short" gives his greetings.
I won't comment on the question, but yes, I was in the SCA some years ago, so the name and title are probably long gone. When I was active, it was in the Barony Knights Crossing in Drachenwald.

Congratulations ma 'eylan,
I guess true (would do that too!), false and true. By the way, beautiful dogs!

I have 3 cats and a dog.  The cats own me.  The dog is another story.  Not to say the cats are not members of the family, they are just ... senior members of the family.  LOL

HRH Ok then, I will also send greetings from Lady Hrafna Rognvaldrsdottir (my secondary persona).  Hrafna is a member of the Ansteorran Longship Company.  We have a rather large group of Viking persona's here in San Antonio, Texas, where we have already built one longship and are currently building a second.  It's quite fun.
As for title and such, they don't go away.  No matter when you come back to the SCA you will be recognized as that persona and still have that title.
Just so you know, in case you want to go back at some point.   ;)
Knights Crossing is still active, I just looked it up.  I don't know exactly where you're located in Germany, but there are many groups there that are active.  Check them out if you're interested.  I love the SCA.  It gives me an outlet for my dramatic tendencies.   ;D

My Lord Jörg "the Short", I send you greetings and the invitation for you and your family to join me at my table at any time if you are in Ansteorra.

I know they are quite active here. But first I have to find the time ;). Longships, I would have liked that too, but I'm just too far away from the coast. I spent my time with fighting, archery and jewelery making.
Thank you for your invitation, I don't know if we ever happen to be in Ansteorra, but you'll never know...

And he and Sophie (who came later to us) really would like a cat for workouts  ;) , so no cats here.
