Who are you?

Kaltxi ma eylan
My name is Manon and I live in south shore of Montreal, Quebec, Canada. I just turned 44 and I'm vegetarian My language is French but I speak English too. I work in aerospace as a wood finisher for the Bombardier Global 5000, a business jet.

Why are you here?

I felt in love with that way of life, the colors, the symbiosis of every kind of life. In fact, that was the world I want for myself.
Few weeks after, I heard that the language was real so I immediately heard the "click" in my head and started to look on Internet to find some information. I found that forum... the best!

Where do your alias and profile pic come from?

my profile pic was taken because nobody had it when I started one year ago. It's not done yet but I will change it soon for the gift I received from Xelloss and Scorpius... a painting of me in my avatar. A great gift!
My alias is important for me. I really thought to find a name that represents me very well so I chose hufwe som because the wind is my element... I love wind! I'm a storm chaser so you must understand that . Som it's because I just don't like winter and cold, I'm a real lizard

Unfortunately we don't have too much time to learn so my language level is not very high but doesn't matter, I have all my life to learn   I started cause I felt in love with the Na'vi language, the musical sounds of the words in my memikyun
The day I heard about the movie "Avatar", I knew right away something would happen with that. I had that strong feeling it was going to be very special and I was waiting for that intensively! When I saw the movie at the theatre, I was so amazed, chocked! My daughter too.
People around me know that I'm learning the language.  For them, I was strange before so imagine when I told them I was learning Na'vi! they don't understand why I learn something really not useful but I don't care. As long as it gives me happiness, it's fine.

What's you favorite Na'vi word? Did you incorporate it (or others) into your everyday vocab?

My favourite word is prrkentrrkrr... I love to say that and It's easy to put it in my conversations because I enjoy life!

In your opinion, what are the top three user-created content on the LN website?

I'm not very comfortable with that question because I don't know a lot out of the French forum.
My opinion is really nothing scientific but I can say
1.   Prrton... very involved in the forum
2.   Taronyu... created the dictionary
3.   Xelloss... our Olo'eyktan, take so much time for us, translate everything, give lessons, explain one thousand times if we need it and he never lose patience! he's so great!

Have you made any contributions to the LN community that you're particularly proud of?

My only contribution is to be there since almost the beginning and never surrender!
I give that forum a feminine touch, my special touch! lol

What is it that you liked/hated the most about Avatar ?

I was a real crazy fan when it was at the theatre! I went to see it 11 times! My daughter came with me 6 times and I brought my father one time.... Imagine the money I spent just to make my menari happy! people thought I was crazy! Lol
Everywhere I go I bring my dictionary with me

Has Avatar  changed your life in any way?

I don't live in a tree because it's too cold in Canada during winter but in my mind, yes I live on Pandora. If I win lottery, I will built a house with natural technology to save energy. An entire organic house!

If you could ask Frommer or Cameron three movie or language related questions what would they be?

Are we going to hear more Na'vi conversations in the two other movies and can we see the subtitles? That should be cool!

What else do you do in you free time?

I am an amateur photographer, storm chaser and life lover!

My favourite animals...
1.   mouse... I just love that cute little face and I love to kiss his soft little head over and over! lol
2.   meerkat... social little cute animal. I love it!
3.   snake... big or small, I love it too!
What I am the most terrified about? Spiders of course!

I have two... telekinesis and fly! At least I do it in my dreams during the night

My camera for sure! Why? To take pictures
My computer to work on my pictures and because I am addict

Hard to say where I want to go in space cause we don't know a lot from space but for sure I wish I can cross universe just like the spaceship Enterprise. I'm a science-fiction addict

If you were granted one single wish what would it be?

To keep my daughter safe in her life

I always put my Na'vi words in my sheets holder at work. I carry that everywhere when I work and I put my Na'vi words on the top of the pile so I can see it and learn at the same time. I always check around if my boss is not coming cause I'm not suppose to do that but one day, he came behind me and looked at my papers.... I was so shy! lol
