Hello everybody! I'm Lucie I'm 23 and I come from the East of France next to Switzerland.(Franche-Comté).

I live in Dompierre-Les-Tilleuls!!! It's a tiny village : there are as many cows as people!  


I have 2 brothers older than me, 2 step-sisters and 2 nephews, Johan and Lison.

I have a diploma in sports education and I worked with adults and children with disabilities. Now, I work with pre-teen a bit difficult and I continue studying animal osteopathy to care for horses and dogs.

Why are you here?

What brought you here to the Learn Na'vi forum in the first place? Did you fall in love with the language? With Pandora? With a character? Did someone invite you? Or did you stumble upon this site? Once here, why did you decide to stay? How much time do you spend here every day?

I found this site with others members and particularly Xelloss is written on another forum : Communauté Avatar, where I often go.
It was he who guided me here and I discovered the member's RP that I love reading.

Eywa and you will curse me but I've never seen the movie at the cinema!!! (Bouh Lucie! Shame on you!!!). But one day, I'm falling on the DVD, surrounded by Jake and Neytiri. I had heard about the movie and I saw the trailers, so I bought the DVD who I've watch the evening! I'm falling in love with Pandora and Na'vis, but most of Jake Sully's avatar!!! He is so sexy!!! So, I watch at two times the next day and even more the following week! I became addict !!!

I was looking for Avatar's pictures and I came across the Communauté Avatar ( the french site) welcomed me and allowed me to know others forums, including Learn na'vi!

Where do your alias and profile pic come from?

Do they have a special significance? Is you alias a translation of your real name, or just a bunch of random letters thrown together? Is that you on your profile pic?

When I searched my name to be placed on Communauté Avatar, I didn't put a simple name that's a derivative of Neytiri or different characters in the movie as we see often.
I searched some originality and I wanted my real name appears in it and a name that represents a connection to the Earth (I know it's a bit strange!). So I search a little while and I found: Maâ-Luz...Maâ meaning Earth in Finnish and Luz (which looks like to Lucie) means Light in Spanish.
So my Na'vi name means "Land of Light" in the international language! Lol

Here is the picture that I like to represent my character. This Na'vi seems still young but has amazing eyes...
I like his way of being a little different...

How well? Why did you start to learn it? What is your ultimate goal with the language? Do you have specific methods/tools you use in learning the language? How did your friends, family, or colleagues react to your interest in learning Na'vi? Have you told them at all? Have you converted any of them?

Unfortunately, I don't know a word of Na'vi language but the most used!
And I think my family would take me for a crazy girl if I spoke The Blue Language!  

But don't worry I intend to learn with the help of Xelloss and his famous dictionary...

What's you favorite Na'vi word? Did you incorporate it (or others) into your everyday vocab?

 I love tsaheylu which like Scorpius said, could be translate by "making love" but that meansso many other thinks!!
This word is untranslatable into any language so powerful is its reach!
Tsaheylu is the physical link is missing in humans to be in harmony with our nature

In your opinion, what are the top three user-created content on the LN website?

It's hard for me to judge people because I'm new and I've not had time to visit the whole site, part French or international. So I'll vote for the one I know best: Xelloss!

Have you made any contributions to the LN community that you're particularly proud of?

Wow ! I've not yet had time to make my small contribution to this forum... Not before publishing this post!

What is it that you liked/hated the most about Avatar ?

How many times have you seen it? How big of an Avatard are you? Prove it!

I saw this movie quite a few times; often when I've a free or depressed moment, Hop! a small watching of Avatar or Lords of the Rings!!
What I liked was the relationship to nature, the harmony between the Na'vis and their environment, and the humanist and environmentalist view of Cameron.
But I think he could still do a little more...
I didn't like the ease of the scenario, too universal, almost too easy. And I find that's animals and people have too many similarities with what exists on Earth (except size of course!).
I know it allows to viewers to identify with the characters, etc... but it still lacks a touch of originality.

Has Avatar  changed your life in any way?

Are you trying to become a Na'vi? How and to what extent? Do you live on a tree? Do you wear your hair in a long braid? Or are you just simply blue? Do you bond with animals? Is Gaia on your contact list? Did you have your photo 'shopped?

Oh I try to be a good na'vi every day on the Commauté Avatar's Roleplay!!  

No, seriously, I don't wait for Avatar to be concerned by the protection of the planet and their eco-systems.
I love working with children or teenagers on pollution's problems, individualism, lack of will to protect the Earth, etc... and I vote Europe-Ecology or The Greens!!
And frankly, as many people, I dream to living in a hut high in a beautiful tree! You know? These amazing hut that looks like the homes of wood elves!

And I rode a great Equidius...ma Linka...

If you could ask Frommer or Cameron three movie or language related questions what would they be?

What else do you do in you free time?

I do horseback riding (see above  ), I play rugby, I spend much time in the evening on the Communauté Avatar and on the Net and I spend great nights with people I met...
I write short stories (a little),  I watch lots of film (I'm a ciné addict!),  I'm a fan of Christian Bale and Viggo Mortensen, I cook, I take care my nephews and especially I think of Scorpius everyhour (I know he will love this sentence! )

Name your top three favorite Earth animals from most favorite to least. Why those? What's the animal you're most terrified of?

Horses of course! They represent Freedom and there is nothing better in the world of galloping in a horse bareback in a field

Cats, for their spirits of independence

And the white Siberian tiger, for his beauty, his pride and because it's endangered, he needs someone to protect him...

No animal terrifies me, although some are dangerous. Each has its place and utility on Earth...
