Tell us about yourself! Where are you coming from, what languages do you speak, what do you do, how old are you, tell us a few words about your family, work etc. This is the job interview part.

Real name's Jon, I've been 18 since January. I've lived in Michigan my whole life and I love it here, though I wish the weather didn't have ADD. I'm fluent in 'ìnglìsì, I also took spanish for 3 years in HS just as a filler talun I couldnt find any other classes I felt like taking, and I'm not that great at it cause I had one of those teachers you just wanna push down a well, and it makes it hard to pay attention. I don't have a job yet, looking hard, but don't have one yet. Great economy, yeh? I've been a bassist for around 5 years now, used to learn by tabs on the internet, but after a month or so I realized how bad they fail Now I learn every song I know by ear, listening to it some 50 times to pick out the bass line.

Why are you here?

What brought you here to the Learn Na'vi forum in the first place? Did you fall in love with the language? With Pandora? With a character? Did someone invite you? Or did you stumble upon this site? Once here, why did you decide to stay? How much time do you spend here every day?

First off, yes, I fell in love with everything about Avatar. I have a habit that when I'm really into something Ill search random things about it on the internet, and I think (but not 100% sure) thats how I found this  awesome community. I must have been googling avatar and found that Na'vi was a real language rather than just words made up for the script like most scifi's, then I found LN. Something about this forum over all the other ones draws me to it 1000x more than the others. I think it's because we're more devoted to the language and everything about the Na'vi more, rather than just a couple threads about 'hey, what words did you pick out from the movie'. That, and of course I've met some of the most awesome people I've ever known on here That's the reason I stayed, is I've become so attached to this community over the year I've been here, the movie.. we are the LN clan.

Where do your alias and profile pic come from?

Do they have a special significance? Is you alias a translation of your real name, or just a bunch of random letters thrown together? Is that you on your profile pic?

I;ve changed my name twice. Originally for the first week or so, my alias was just Bassist22, which is just my regular username. Then I changed it to Na'rìnga Taronyu, which I kept alllllll the way up until only November 2010. That one was based on the way I played MW2; I'd hide in a really concealed spot, usually on the roof of a building as long as there was some moss or something up there (like the 2 story shed on Estate), in some thick bushes, (in one of the corners of the church at the back of Wasteland), etc., and completely silently pick off the enemy with my trusty Intervention w/ suppressor and thermal, UAV jammer, flashbangs, etc. and I'd rarely be found (made possible partly by staying in-scope for about 4 seconds after the kill so the victim wouldn't see my surroundings in their kcam). So anyway, then I changed it to my current one. Damn, it took me some weeks to think it up So, Eanikran I picked out after some careful thinking, and liking the sound of both Ikranari's name and Kxeyo's "Eanari". Nga could say  they inspired me. So then, Txuronyu I thought sounded cool, it's a combo of Txur and Taronyu-hopefully everyone knows what they both mean I wanted to pull something from my previous name talun I had that one for most of the time I'd been here and it meant soemthing to me. And I used Ateyo'itan talun I thought it would be a great honor to be Tsu'teyä tsmukan.

How well? Why did you start to learn it? What is your ultimate goal with the language? Do you have specific methods/tools you use in learning the language? How did your friends, family, or colleagues react to your interest in learning Na'vi? Have you told them at all? Have you converted any of them?

I started to learn it for two reasons. One being I had just been dumped, which meant I needed something I could do  to get my mind off of her, and the other being because I instantly fell in love with the movie the first(of nearly 112 now) time(s) I saw it. The second far outweighs the first now though, and it has since around last March. At first I tried to hide it, then my mom found the big fat binder I had all my printed stuff in and she said 'oh thats pretty cool' I have tried to get my best friend to join me, but he gave up after I sent him some grammar stuff.
 

What's your favorite Na'vi word? Did you incorporate it (or others) into your everyday vocab?

hmmmm. this is a tough one. I can't decide between tsyal and tsko/tsko swizaw. They both flow real good. I try to use a lot of words IRL without using a dict because it's a good way to build vocab, since at the moment that's my big weak point. I'm decent with the grammar (though still learning) but I find myself looking things up more often than not if I don't use that word often. Quite a few times I'll catch myself using whole or chunked Na'vi sentences with friends and parents and they actually understand them now  

In your opinion, what are the top three user-created content on the LN website?

Anything from the main site, the wiki, or the forum including language docs, threads, quotes, literary works, images, etc.

Ngaynume is one of them, that's a definite. I would not be where I am with Na'vi today if it weren't for Maweyatan, Alìm Tsamsiyu, all the haryu on TS, and ESPECIALLY. Tirea Aean. The first thing I had on Na'vi  way back when was Amawey's guide (ngaytxoa if I got the name wrong). I printed that out and read through it some hundred times. And KP's Learn Na'vi the Easy Way book. I printed 3 copies of it, every page, from my dad's copy machine in my basement, worked through all of them. I still have all 3 of them in my still intact binder of stuff, with all my answers in them. I was also a beta tester of the new one.

Have you made any contributions to the LN community that you're particularly proud of?

What made you make those? Do you plan on contributing (again) in the future? How?

I haven't made any super huge mega contributions unfortunately
However, I do have my sig tags. I started by making one for my old name, talun I thought, those are pretty cool, gonna make myself one. Then Eyamsiyu came along and said, hey, can you make me one of those?

I made a few of the backgrounds for Swoka Ikran's countdown tags as well. I continue to make them, I add every one I do to the gallery on the thread. In fact, I have one to do today.

What is it that you liked/hated the most about Avatar ?

How many times have you seen it? How big of an Avatard are you? Prove it!

The only thing I wasn't a huge fan of was the scene after Jake, Neytiri, sì Tsu'tey fly in formation, when Jake and Ney are talking about their flying in that little alcove (the lines of course, not the visuals ). the infamous "turn" part. Other than that, I loved everything about the movie. I've seen it (appx) 112 times (might be 113), including theater (2D and 3D), regular DVD, BD, BD collector's, three different times in three different classes at school, and on my ipod. I also have a poster in my room. I'd say I'm up there.

Has Avatar  changed your life in any way?

Are you trying to become a Na'vi? How and to what extent? Do you live on a tree? Do you wear your hair in a long braid? Or are you just simply blue? Do you bond with animals? Is Gaia on your contact list? Did you have your photo 'shopped?

Yep, it has. I pay more attention to the environment now, though not one of those 'no car, walk everywhere, don't use elctricity, don't cook anything..etc type guys. It would be f*cking epic to actually become a Na'vi. I'd pay whatever it takes to go to Eywa'eveng if it were possible

If you could ask Frommer or Cameron three movie or language related questions what would they be?

What else do you do in you free time?

I have an airsoft team that I co-run with my best friend and we have events in the summer, I have pics on Facebook I play bass quite a lot, have been for 5 years, I am also a gamer PS# of course, obviously COD black ops, socom, modnation racers, rock band, a bunch more. I'm also writing 2 mods for minecraft.

Name your top three favorite Earth animals from most favorite to least. Why those? What's the animal you're most terrified of?

1-Mini schnauzers- they're the best dog you'll ever have. They're friendly with everyone, they don't shed, they're small, and they're HILARIOUS.
2-Grey parrots- My dad used to have one, they're really cool, and they sound awesome.
3-Cats-I used to have two, and they both died from sickness. They were the best two cats I've ever had, I had them from fit-in-your-pocket age to wheel chair age.

Pirate, ninja, zombie, or robot?

Ninja. Why? because they don't have to try to not be seen, it's that they have the choice whether to be seen or not. I don't really know 'sub types' of ninjas though hrh

What three items would you take to a desert island and why?

Anything from books, movies, games, instruments, music, sporting equipment, etc. You'd be provided with means to fully utilize the chosen items – electricity, MP3 player, etc. –, but you couldn't use them for anything else. Escape is not possible.

My bass, to play because there won't be any power, my phone with a full charge, so I can call someone and tell them I want to come home, and a box of cheezits, for a snack

If you could travel to anywhere in space and time (including fictional universes), where would you go and why?

I'd go there and take my friends and family, though they'd probably say WTF IS WRONG WITH NGA at first, but they'd learn to love it, like we all have.
I'd go because it would simply be amazing to live as a Na'vi.

If you were granted one single wish what would it be?

There are so many things... for now I'll say to take a select bunch of people with me to Pandora to stay there and live leNa'vi until we had avatars made for us.

What is a question you'd ask yourself? How would you answer it?

"Why was I so mezmerized when I first saw Avatar?" I think it's because everything seemed so.. possible. you know? nothing was really unrealistic, like most scifi movies like star wars (not to say they weren't good movies).

What is the funniest, weirdest, or most embarrassing Na'vi or Avatar  related thing that has happened to you?

A month or so ago I yelled nìNa'vi at these two chaldean kids who don't ever shut up, are always late, and always talk sh*t about everybody on the bus that goes to my tech school in the morning. They didn't say another word on that bus, either going to the school or back from there, for 4 days.

And yep, my teams usually active in the summer mostly, we do spec ops gametypes rather than flat deathmatch and we use good guns too, no beaters from walmart like the noobs use mines an echo1 M4 CQB variant and I have 2 red dots, an acog, tac light, front grip for it. Spent about $450 total
