Who are you?

Tell us about yourself! Where are you coming from, what languages do you speak, what do you do, how old are you, tell us a few words about your family, work etc. This is the job interview part.

I am Ateyo te Syaksyuk's Muntxate. the two of of were mated before Eywa nineteen years ago in Arizona.  We became somewhat of a "celebrity couple" two years ago when we forced the State of Texas to give us a "normal" (read the same as hetero) Marriage License, due to a Federal Court Decision that left a loophole in their "Defense of Marriage" law large enough for me to fly a 727 through.  As a result, the original news report of the event went viral, and was reported on as far away as Australia to the west, and Holland to the east.  I speak English, German, Samoan, and am slowly learning Na'vi. I am 19 years old, even though I have orbited the Sun on this rock that we call Earth 62 times. I am retired Army, a pilot, hunter, competitive shooter, aerospace engineer, blue water sailor, and Christian Musician. I am half German, and half Cherokee Indian.

Why are you here?

What brought you here to the Learn Na'vi forum in the first place? Did you fall in love with the language? With Pandora? With a character? Did someone invite you? Or did you stumble upon this site? Once here, why did you decide to stay? How much time do you spend here every day?

I am here because of my love for the story, (it is much more than just a "movie"), behind Avatar, what the story stands for, and how it has reached so many people around the world. I am deeply impressed at how James Camaron took a lot of the money that the film made, and instead of buying himself a Lear Jet as others would have done, used it to fight environmental causes, and to educate the worldwide public on environmental issues.  Being able to learn Na'vi would be a wonderful plus.

Where do your alias and profile pic come from?

Do they have a special significance? Is you alias a translation of your real name, or just a bunch of random letters thrown together? Is that you on your profile pic?

That is a photo of me flying one on my aircraft over Horizon City, Texas three years ago.  The name Niri Te, was computer generated.

How well? Why did you start to learn it? What is your ultimate goal with the language? Do you have specific methods/tools you use in learning the language? How did your friends, family, or colleagues react to your interest in learning Na'vi? Have you told them at all? Have you converted any of them?

I know a bunch of root words, and a little grammer. I started to learn it in order to get Ateyo teSyaksyuk to join this site and ToS, which she did a day or two after I did.  I think that the greatest way for those of us who have an environmental Conscience to show the world our solidarity, is for all of us to get as many of us as we can to start speaking Na'vi amongst ourselves whenever we are in public.

What's you favorite Na'vi word? Did you incorporate it (or others) into your everyday vocab?

Yawnete  is one of my favorites, Ateyo and I speak lovingly to each other when in public mi Na'vi all the time, and use as much Na'vi as we can retain from our studies when we are home.

In your opinion, what are the top three user-created content on the LN website?

The Na'vi Dictionary, the beginner's language forum, and the fan fiction.

Have you made any contributions to the LN community that you're particularly proud of?

What made you make those? Do you plan on contributing (again) in the future? How?

I help Ateyo write her Fan Fiction Story, contributing about 20 percent of it's content. all of the military content, and all of the flying content, as well as Tai Tae Ao's dialog.

What is it that you liked/hated the most about Avatar ?

How many times have you seen it? How big of an Avatard are you? Prove it!

I hated Trudy Chacon getting killed, but the other thing that I hated, is that no Attack pilot would have done what she did, and just squared off nose to nose after one quick pass on the dragon, I would have come over the top of the dragon from it's six as she did, but then orbited the engine intakes, and flight deck area nose 45 degrees down, pumping all of my ordinance into that ship, vaporizing it.  They would have died before they knew who was killing them.

Has Avatar  changed your life in any way?

Are you trying to become a Na'vi? How and to what extent? Do you live on a tree? Do you wear your hair in a long braid? Or are you just simply blue? Do you bond with animals? Is Gaia on your contact list? Did you have your photo 'shopped?

Being Cherokee, I was born "a Na'vi", but this WAS a wake up call for me to live and publicly espouse, (as in peoples faces), my beliefs.

If you could ask Frommer or Cameron three movie or language related questions what would they be?

Why the highly acidic atmosphere? Wouldn't the high CO2 content (perhaps even a little higher if the air wasn't so acidic),  have done the trick as far as human lethality would be concerned ?  I would congratulate J.C. on the ending, where Jake just opens his eyes, and the story ends.  On the other hand, the eighteen minutes that was cut out of that movie MADE the movie.

What else do you do in you free time?

Help Ateyo build our Hanger Home, and our Experimental Ultralight aircraft.

Name your top three favorite Earth animals from most favorite to least. Why those? What's the animal you're most terrified of?

The Red Tailed Hawk as it truly has been my Tirea Iaong from the time that I was a small child. The bottle nosed Dolphin as I have gone diving with them many times, and the Loggerhead Turtle. I have the scars on my left arm from huge fish hooks that one was tangled up in while in the surf  just west of Makaha, Hawai'i.  He knew that I was trying to save him from drowning, and did not fight me at all.  When I freed him, the two of us were face to face in the water for about a minute, him just looking in my eyes, thanking me, then he turned away, and swam out to sea.

I would go to Pandora as a gunship pilot to defend Eywa 'Eveng with my blood and honor.

The weirdest thing concerning Avatar, was the fact that we had to buy THREE DIFFERENT, BRAND NEW, in the shrink wrap Avatar Collestor's Edition, DVD's, (NOT BLUE RAY), and ALL of them were defective, until we went to a different store, (Target) and got one that worked just fine.

Did you REALLY swim with Sharks with no cage for twelve hours off the coast of Grand Bahama Island?
Yes I did, an ultralight that I was flying to West End Airport to fly an aerobatics routine in for the "Second annual National Airshow" had problems three miles shy of the runway, and I had to ditch it a mile offshore.  The control Tower was only manned part time, and everyone had gone home an hour earlier. As I was setting up to put her in as slowly as possible I saw the hundreds of sharks cruising the shallows, I set her into the water without any damage to the airframe at 35MPH, just as the sun was setting.  It took me all night to swim the little over a mile to a small islet , where I crawled out, and flagged down some fisher men in a Boston Whaler, who took me to the Jack Tar Marina, where I got some breakfast, and snagged a dive boat, with six floatation vests. We went  out to where The ultralight was, put the floatation vests under it's wings, popped the inflators on the vests, floated the plane that was in 12 feet of water, setting it on the back of the boat, took it to shore, fixed the problem,  and flew the aerobatic routine.

I knew you had an interesting background, BUT...Wow!! I would have never imagined all that!

There is a riddle of some kind here... 62/19 = 3.26 I don't think we are looking at a February 29th birthday. Perhaps, this is the amount of time you have been 'born again'?

The ultralight story is amazing....shows what a determined individual can really do!

Now, for the N/T questions:
1. N  Like others here have said, I have no doubt you have flown just about anything. (You can try landing the space shuttle, and the lunar module at the Boeing museum.)

I do not know you well yet but from what I read about the ultra light and your writing about as a pilot fo rthe RP... I assume you fly various sizes of aircraft.

I think everyone has regrets. But not so much regrets as the flip side to a coin. The what if's... I have regrets in one respect to situations and on the flip of that I realize that if I had not done that regretful deed or missed that regretted time, then I would not be where I am now.

 Well, oeyä soaiä, my week is over, and I hand my title to my replacement, someone who I respect greatly. But first, I must finish one last duty, and that is to answer the three true or false questions.

1) TRUE, I have flown many many different aircraft.

2) FALSE, In spite of all my sucess as a pilot, even in the face of much opposition, there is one set of wings that I had wanted from the time I was five or six years old, and that is Astronaut's wings. That never happened, but I donot cry over that, I have been blessed to fly AIRLINERS after the FAA pulled my medical certificate due to the circumstances of my birth. I just changed the rules, went to a Foreign country, and flew for a Foreign flag carrier.

3) TRUE I used to run a Sportsman class Dirt Track Stock Car in Tennessee.
