Plumps is right, you can't use lu with the participles (us/awn) - doing so is very much an attempt to apply English grammar.  If you find yourself using lu with a participle, just ditch lu and the participle form and use the verb directly, using fkol if necessary to supply a subject for the object (in the case of awn).  Or just apply the participle directly to the word, though I don't think that carries the same meaning in this case.
