Today, we bring you some fantastic news - a message from Paul Frommer in response to the overwhelming feedback on Ma Sempul. Be sure to add your name to the petition if you haven't already!

Listen to the letter, as read by Dr. Frommer himself!

To all my friends and friends of the Na'vi language:

I See you, my friends, and I thank you. I have heard the message you have sent me so passionately. I feel your love for the Na'vi language. And I know you are all waiting for my guidance.

Please believe me, my friends. I want very much to guide you. But as you know, I must work together with those who have brought us "Avatar" and the world of Pandora. I have sent them a message, but up to now no answer has arrived. Like you, I too am waiting.

When I receive an answer, I will let you know, and I will then decide the best way to bring you the words and rules of Na'vi.

I hope I will soon have good news to give you.

In the words of our young friend Markus from Galway . . . Let Na'vi bloom!

Goodbye for now, and may Eywa be with you.

Your friend and teacher, Paul.

This is great! I'm glad to see he is also enthusiastic about it.

This is great news, hes on our boat!

Anyone else notice he pronounced his name with with the W intead of a U. I wonder why that is . . . does it go against the pronunciation scheme of Na'vi ?

Double squee!  One for the response, and one for new attested text/vocab/grammar!  At last, we know the word for "friend": 'eylan.

It looks like "and" can be suffixed to words too:

Ta 'eylan karyusì ayngeyä, Pawl
[From] your friend and teacher, Paul

Kind of reminds me of the -que suffix in Latin: "Senatus Populusque Romanus" = "Senate and People of Rome"

Eywa'evengä?  Pandora is Eywa'evengä in Na'vi??!!

Looks like Eywa'eveng; the -ä is the genitive attaching it to kifkey "world".  Alternately it might just be a set phrase kifkey Eywa'evengä "Eywa-child world".

and love (noun), that's probably the biggest thing in that whole thing.

Everyone, this is amazing! We have been heard! I truly and full heartedly believe that Dr. Frommer has to be the most patient, hard working and dedicated teacher out there! Irayo ma Pawl!

Great, more Na'vi to parse. I let Wikipedia know about the new source as they've done a great job going over the content that we've had until now.

If we had a few dozen more of these we should be able to figure out the language all by ourselves.

So awesome  :D  :D

Go listen to Dr. Frommer speak, it's just beautiful.

Of course! Perhaps the entire phrase is used when referring to Pandora.

Well I think that's what our clever friend may be going for, if they don't give him the freedom. They may be able to silence his documentation, but they silence his tongue.
