Maybe I should follow of these suggestions and just tspäpang now. :D

Or I could go out in the sun again today. It's so nice out, haha.

I find it really odd how the vast majority or press has tended to pejoratively refer to us as hopeless nerds: actually, I, and I suspect most of the people on here, are normal people. This thing is actually probably helping my university masters degree, to be honest. I just fail to see how being interested in a short-lived and conversationally limited language equates to being the sad, pathetic, ugly nerd these people consistently think I am.

Just sayin'.

I don't understand, it's like it's more socially accepted to waste time playing with the stupid Garry's mod, while learning this awesome language is looked down upon....It's certainly not a waste of time, i might get better at german now, as i know what the hell accusative, genitive, ... means.

But as for anything, haters gonna hate.

EDIT: I read through all of them ('cept for the french one) and as i see, they're the supiorr no-life bloggers ranting about us "no-lifers".lol.

Gamefaqs expecially enraged me, WASTE OF HUMAN BEING TIME? So ranting about it isn't waste of time? they're probably scrolling down that site everyday to see if there's something to hate, yeah, that's well spent time.

I find the one from wicked local.com completely stupid.

Honestly, it's not our fault you do not understand what your daughter is tellin you so don't go bashing another language because you can't understand your own language.

The Anglo Austria doesn't sound too bad.

The other ones just sound ignorant. They think we're sad for learning a language...You guys are a
sad for constantly trying to find a way to say it's stupid. Get a life losers!

I actually took the time to create an account on gamefaq just so I could respond to their stupidity.

QuoteThe language from Avatar is not just some replacing b.s. fire, it has has grammar totally different from the English way of speaking with non-english concepts too.

Speaking of a waste of time though, how productive, exactly, is creating a thread/responding to a thread merely to insult people that actually use their time better than most of you.

Immaturity does not suite you people well, just because someone has a different life than you does not make it any less than your own so grow up.

At the end of the quote, I would have wrote :

I would gladly tell you what it means, but seeing we "losers" just waste our time, it would be a waste of time to even tell you, so make something of your time and search it up.

Nìwotxkrr Tìyawn, I'm with you haha I put a nice response to the one who responded to you. It's sad how people sit and complain about how were wasting time, while their wasting the same amount of time complaining bahaha!

Even sadder is that they live their life on "the cool peoples'" guidelines. I hope 2012 wipe out some haters (if it ever happens, i hope not, because AVATAR 2).

You guys are spot on. It is so hard (for me, at least) to fathom why this specific hobby is the target of so much external ridicule. I don't really see much difference between learning a new language (even a "pretend" one) and, say, learning how to play a "pretend" guitar or killing "pretend" internet dragons. Come to think of it, even when hobbies involving "real life" are considered, with rare exceptions, I don't think that learning how to hit a ball with a bat/racket/3-Wood/paddle is a particularly "useful" way to spend your time. They're hobbies, not life choices, not careers.  Everyone has a different idea of how to spend their free time in a way that is enjoyable to themselves. Who cares what other people find interesting, it's their life!

And regarding people who enjoy commenting on every little thing they can possibly find on the Internet, especially those things that they don't understand, well...that can be considered a hobby in its own right. But it certainly has even less merit than any of the things I've mentioned before. They're just people with lots of time on their hands but that lack the creativity needed to do something other than complaining about anything and everything they encounter. As tolerant of others as I strive to be, I see few alternatives for how to deal with people like this other that to tell as many of them as we possibly can to either come to the website and at least see what we're all about, and, failing that, tsaheyl säpi.

^That's what im trying to say.

We're like DragonForce (metal band) and World Of Worcraft (game), both hated on stupid reassons, like DragonForce is hated due to 4 year old vids, and WoW is hated because of the media sircus some addicts make.

We will newer be understood by the "cool" people. They all think we are lifeless nerds and that's how we appear to ingorant fools.

I can see a lost of 4/4/10'ers in the comments area, nice work, ma 'eylan.

EDIT: s***, I didnt read more than the beginning of I_like_things comments, GAMEFAQS should have an edit button....:(

Here here! I've received a fair bit of ridicule for learning Na'vi, but also a fair bit of interest. Personally, I don't think it's any more pointless than playing Guitar Hero or World of Warcraft; each to his own, I have played and enjoyed both.  :)
i wouldn't say there was a whole lot of practical use for na'vi at the moment, but it's certainly helping me linguistics-wise :)

p.s, i love Dragonforce, but it's a pity Z.P. Theart left. :(

As I have learned from the internet, some poeple like hating on things to get attention from other "cool" poeple. Getting respected for having a different opinion on things is not unheard of. I'm a member at Ultimate-Guitar.com and the community there is not good at all, exspecially i n the offtopic forum, it's like 4chan, with rules. A rapist would get less hate than Avatar got there, they compare it to Pochahontas every time it's mentioned.

But with everything that's in a way different...

I had a extreme flamewar on Youtube about dragonforce earlier, i think i pawned him, since he remained speechless lol.

Ignorance never dies, never. (at least for ayskxawng).

EDIT: Added long rant on gamefags.

Txur’Itan

Well if I might lean towards commenting on the pejorative posts on those articles.

Those who are frequently spouting the most criticism, are likely and commonly inadequate thinkers, philosophers, or artisans to be anything other than obsessive over the minutia they consider to be flaws in the world around them.

I know many persons who chose not to act on anything other than to complain, and lament over the things they do not like, and find a form of social camaraderie in a collective disdain, while lazily not pursuing anything beyond these complaints.

Their leanings towards simple and oft over utilized phrases or words like nerd, or the like, insinuating a sort of social ineptitude, implies a degree of arrogance on their part that they themselves over state their ability to live in the contrary state in unrealistic in proportions comparative to fact.  If their frequency of such a presence on these threads is long enough to articulate their statements of protestation are evidence of anything; it is that they themselves are a further bent guiltier of what they lambast us for than who they target with their slanderous comments.

I would highly recommend the use of Avatarii in in place of Avatard, the value of this is not small.

I would say the only response you need is, they are uninformed, blissfully ignorant, and that such comments are nothing short of a childish attention grab.

In offtopic sections, everyone wants to be eFameous. So large attention grabs are bieng done. And to feel that the skxawng is accepted in the ayskxawng society.
