"Pretty" sure isn't sure. I guess he knows exactly what to tell in public and what not.
I am convinced there was a subliminal message in the speech - but as subliminal messages are sub - liminal, we didn't understand it.

To my mind, there were some details still to made clear and he was distracting rumors that were spread by that interview with Sigourney Weaver - just in case it would have turned out that there will be no Avatar 4.

I found it amusing that below that article, there was a stockbroker ad for "Rare Earth mineral stocks are exploding into the next gold rush".

We are seeing something similar to the Unobtanium situation (which, if the ASG is correct, is an alkaline earth element) happen with rare earth metals. The rare earth elements have some interesting properties (including superconductivity at suitably low temperatures) that make them highly desirable for modern electronic devices. Most of the rare earth elements really aren't that rare (a few are really rare), they just aren't concentrated in many places. Some older mines for these metals are being re-opened.

Back on topic: We will only really know how many Avatar films there really are after they are all finally released.
