It's less an issue of "binding" than of temporal sequencing, which is usually more complex in subordinating relationships.

I think I understand, but I am curious on how you would define 'temporal sequencing'.

Kaltxì everyone,

I wanted to let you know that my article, Media, Information Technology and Language Planning: What can Endangered Language Communities learn from Created Language Communities?, published in Current Issues in Language Planning is now available on-line.  If you are a University student your library will probably have this journal available to you for download for free.  Others, unfortunately, will have to purchase it on-line, but here is the abstract for you to look at if you are interested.

Just a note I wrote this in March before I had even thought of the Na'vi research study so please excuse any errors on my part.

Irayo!

ta, Christine

Kaltxì, ma everyone, :)

Apologies for the necro-post, but I wanted to let you know that I have now completed the analysis of the first ten questions in the Na'vi Research Study. The report (compiled with Prrton's help) is now available for download. Analysis of questions 11-20 will be happening over the next few months as well.

You can access the report on my website: http://www.christineschreyer.ca/Research.html
The file is called "Report on Na'vi Research © Christine Schreyer (October 2011)" and it is below a description of the research itself.  I will be presenting some of these results at the American Anthropology Association's annual conference in Montreal, QC, Canada on Wednesday, November 16th, 2011 at 8:45pm.  I can post more details about where if anyone is interested and able to make it to the presentation.

I look forward to hearing your feedback on the results compiled so far and am happy to answer any questions as well.  :)

Irayo to all!

ta, Kìrìstin

Ftiafpi

It's not a necropost if it's welcome and exciting news. ;)

wm.annis

The data are interesting.  I look forward to some future paper analyzing the results. :)  I assume you're give the first airing of that at the conference.

It's your download or your reader. It works fine for me (tested in both Adobe Reader X and Foxit 5).

apparently my version of preview is too old for this version of the PDF but the problem has been solved by a friend.

It is indeed very interesting... Ma Christine, have found somebody else to translate the questions for you? I had translated only the first, hadn't I? :-\
Otherwise, very interesting!
