Well, this year goes to it's end. Are there any plans for second round of Na'vi Language Writing Contest?

As I can see good interest, I'm trying to organize this year's competition. Here you can see how things go.
Current state of preparations

26.11.2011 - request to possible judges sent. Awaiting responses.
28.11. - 4 of 10 responses received. Seems that we'll be able to create judicatory :)
29.11. judge court of 5 members established (names still hidden, but all are great people of our community)
4.12. function of submission manager established. Start time is near!

Aw man this totally had me going that there was another contest starting! But now that Blue Elf brings it up, I too am curious...will there be another contest? I have several poems already written including an entire song translated :)

I also would like to know. ???  Last January I was disappointed that I was too late to enter as a beginner. :(  I've never actually competed in a writing contest and would like the chance to try now. :)

I set up last year's, but I wasn't planning to do one this year, sorry.  Not that someone else couldn't take up that task.  :)

Oel new fmiti pamrel sil nìNa'vi. My level of Na'vi is appauling, but with some help, I would like to try. There isn't so many ways to learn after all.

Tsmuketengan, I am with you in wanting to do this. Last year, a whole bunch of stuff happened all at once in December, and I ended up having to 'blow off' entering the writing contest. I felt really bad, because there were no other entries in the class I was trying to enter.

I would offer you a little help, though: Your sentence Oel new fmiti pamrel sil nìNa'vi needs some work. First of all, you can only use noun case markers on nouns.  fmi and pamrel si are both verbs. You also need to use an <iv> in verbs controlled by modal verbs, and you have two modal verbs in this sentence. This sentence (I think, anyway, others can comment) is better with a relative clause. So, I would write Oel new futa (oe) fmi pamerel sirvi nìNa'vi.

In any cas though, the way to really learn this stuff so you have it down pat is to use the language is to use the language. And what better way to use it than to participate in a writing contest!

I would offer to organize or judge this but I am 1.) too busy and 2.) not anywhere near enough of a 'master' to be a competent judge.

Nice to see interest in writing here. As there are no plans for contest 2, the only way is to organize it themself. Main problem is not probably organization, but creating jury or judge team. Are there some Na'vi experts kind enough to read some texts and decide which is best?

Well I wouldn't consider myself an expert per se but I guess I could be a judge. Tho I also wanted to enter the contest myself. If someone more qualified than me steps up to be a judge by all means let them have it.

We had three judges the last time, which seems a bare minimum.

I'm totally in agreement with you there.  I very much wanted to enter my own writing, but I suppose I could judge if no one who is more of an expert at Na'vi than I am volunteers.

I guess there is the need of at least two totally fluent Na'vi speakers. The help and impressions of advanced people in Na'vi could be very supportive. But there need to be at least "specialists". :)

Blue Elf

Well, two candidates for judge looks well :) But now it is question how many competitors we get? Until now there is 5 people interested, 2 of them potential judges (and question is if I get inspiration... :-X)

So, who is interested, pleased write a note here to see if we can get enough people to organize competition.

I might be interested.  Please tell me a little more about it, how much writing in Na'vi is required, etc.

Blue Elf

Rules wasn't established yet, as we are in phase of discovering interest. But see rules for last year's contest, I don't think we can devise something better

So, as I read these rules, it does NOT say the entry has to be nìNa'vi.  It could be in any language (preferably English?), so long as "Your work should be about the Na'vi language or somehow relating to LN.org and the general Na'vi language community."  Kefyak?

I did fairly well in last year's competiton. Couldn't I help you judging :)?

I think it says - title in first post was "Na'vi Writing Contest". What different language should be used here at Lern Na'vi ? ;D

Why not? Now we need more competitors... no other people interested?  :o

I would add Omängum fra'uti and Plumps to that list. And Txona Rolyu is probably better than he thinks he is....

Yes, the idea of last years' contest was to write something in Na'vi, even if it wasn't explicitly stated.

I agree with Blue Elf that last years' rules are pretty good. The only think that needs to change is a new topic should be selected. The topic should be different every year, or how ever often such a contest is done.

Now, how to get the word out....
