Don't feel bad. I was kept so busy this week that I had no opportunity to write it. I had an outline and everything for it. I may still do it as an exercise, but it would have been fun to have competed.

So, the mods weren't allowed to participate in the contest, but i wanted to write something for the occasion nonetheless—think of it as a present from me to the community.

Hoookay... the contest is over and now judged.  We have only to decide on one tie. (It's my fault for mentioning the possibility of a tie earlier in the day.)

First, my thanks to all the participants, and again to the judges who let me drag them into this.

People did not submit equally to the categories.  So, there will be no "beginners prose" prize.  The one person who did submit in that category way underestimated their skill, and was promoted to "advanced prose" where they placed.   Only one person offered for the "advanced verse" category, but that was such a remarkable thing we're all happy to let them win by default.

Once we figure out what to do about the tie, I'll be sending the winning works, with the names you gave us attached, along to Frommer.
