And don't feel singled out. A routine upgrade to our archive tape library ended in some bizarre failure I still am trying to figure out... while people are waiting to add and remove files. To make matters worse, the vendor who is supposed to be leading this project is sick in bed with food poisoning... At least, that gives me the chance to get my hands on the hardware much earlier on, when I should have my hands on it!

Okie doke, I just need one more bit of downtime tonight to get the last of the new firmware code into the BIOS and BMC of the machine.  So if you can't get in around 7:00-8:00CDT tonight, that's why.

Captain's Log, supplemental:

 The new BIOS and BMC firmware is installed and for once it all went smoothly.  The iKVM and power management is working quite spiffily.

 This was the last of the server maintenance until it is time to replace the processors with AMD 4386s and replace the SATA RAID1 with a SAS RAID5. That will probably be sometime late next spring.

 Meanwhile, Kelutral is watered and fertilized and quiet happy for now!
