I totally agree.  I spent quite a bit of time in google searching for info on the Na'vi language.  Got on a mailing list that absolutely destroyed my inbox because there was so much interest at the time, and then we got this crazy idea to start a forum somewhere, and well here we are.  All these ayeveng have it easy...

Just wanna take credit n say the forum was my idea :D

Super thrilled it took off the way it did!

Congratulations!

Something to consider though, and i dont know the numbers to crunch this, but probably 3 out of 4 people joining in the next week will lose interest in learning the language in a week or two. I would say only 1 in 4 of the original 100 will lose their interest that quickly. Regardless, even if a member only comes on and learns the basics (a greeting, goodbye, yes, no, etc) then we accomplished our goal of making it accessible and showing that you can learn this language. Heres to keeping a strong core of members :D

I want to have an on gonig dialogue withanyone who intends the same.

Star trek lasted 40 years, Star Gate 15.  I was hard core into those universes.

This universe is a great deal less boring.

That's so true.  I'm a member of a different forum for an entirely different subject (www.drumlines.org), and the people who actually post and participate compared to those who are members are 1/10, so it's true that some will join, and then will stop coming.

That's not our point here: it's to help people learn Na'vi, not get as many members to sign up as possible (that would happen on it's own, anyway).  So that's our core focus, as Nume fpi sänume said.

Notice the last paragraph in this article: http://www.firstshowing.net/2009/12/24/whats-next-for-avatar-and-james-cameron-sequels-more/

BAM, We've got advertisement!  But that could end up either good or bad.  We'll get plenty of people that want to learn, but we'll probably also get trolls coming in (hopefully we can take care of those promptly).

I guarantee we will be getting trolls press or no press, eventually.
