Regarding solution you are right, I think it wasn't hard :) Only by big watter animal I meant sea lion, our zoo doesn't own big fishes

Why using si then? Tstu slamu will be fine.

Taluna oe ke tsun ivomum fra'ut :) "Tstu si" is in dictionary, so I didn't think that there can be different way of saying that, although your propose sound even better. Well, there is still much to learn :)

IMO, tstu si means "close something", i.e. transitive verb in English (of course, in Na'vi it's intransitive). Perhaps you could use an infix -äp- to say "the sky closed": Ngian taw tstu säpami (like win säpivi). Or really as said Sireayä mokri, use slu instead.

actually i thought that 'uo tstu si means something closes.

I get "the sky closes" out of "taw tstu si" maybe I'm wrong by my interpretation of the intransitive verb tstu si.

There are two possibilities:

1. tstu si & tstu seyki + dat
2. tstu säpi & tstu si + dat

Actually I don't know which is correct. But I more like the second one, though I don't exclude both. I think if first is correct, it would be impossible to say "cause to close", because there is already an infix -eyk-. Otherwise we can say just tstu seyki (if the second is correct).

IMO, it's important question for Pawl :) Also with piak si.

i was thinking more like

taw tstu si // the sky closes
oel tawit tstu seyki // i close the sky

instead of
oe tawur tstu si //*I close the sky

since when is the object of seyki a dat?

Yeah, it should be pat. My bad :)

So what about win säpi? Why not just win si? Besides tìsraw si is noun+si, but we're talking about adj+si, like win si. Also teya si - we use it with dative. So I think:

taw tstu säpi - the sky closes
oe tawr tstu si - I close the sky
oel ngati tawr tstu seyki - I cause you to close the sky

also, ive noticed this thread has taken many twists and turns...Im wondering ( since the original idea is no longer being posted on ) whether or not it's worth it to chop it up/split it modstyle...? :/

Ok, you can split it :)

Also agree. I think all adj.+si verbs are semantically transitive, meaning that if you want them to be intransitive you use äp. Plus we have

14.  Could you make that a bit clearer? Could you explain that further?
Tsun nga law sivi nì’it srak? (from here)

not law seykivi.

because in english, many adjectives are also used as transitive verbs:
open, clean, dry, wet, warm, cool, etc

this preference of mine may be very influenced by the fact that certain si verbs are transitive in english. I've just come to accept those such as srung si et.al. with dative because it's canon and we have examples.

so where is this threae going exactly? OP startd a multiplayer translation game. ;P

Well, if we look at a noun+si verb as "do a noun", then it makes perfect sense using it with dative (srung si=to do help; srung si ngaru=to do help to you).

so where is this threae going exactly? OP startd a multiplayer translation game. ;P

I think we could ask OP himself.
