I guess I tried to make a poem, something one would say to their mate?  :) I had to use the dictionary for so much of this.  ;)

Lor nitxan nga
Sevin nitxan nga
Ngaru menari lu leaytxepvi
Ngaru ta'leng lu le lor ean kilvan
Oel tiyawn fra'u tsawa nga lu
Oel ngati kameie

Those who don't try won't master at all :D

Beautiful idea! Here's what I've noticed:

Lor* lu nìtxan nga
— it could be possible to leave out the lu in poetry but I'd leave it in ;)
Sevin* lu nìtxan nga
— pay attention to these accented i's ;) They are important to distinguish in Na'vi
Ngari menari lu leaytxepvi na (ay)tepvi
— I don't know where you took the *leay form from; I chose ngari because eyes are inalienable possessions, so we use the topic
Ngari ta'leng lu le na lora kilvan aean
— again topic and we can't put adjectives in a row like in English, thus the beautiful blue river becomes 'beautiful river blue' and in order to show that these adjectives describe the river the -a- has to be attached.
Oeru lu tiyawne fra'u tsawa a nga lu — the idiom for 'I love you' is nga yawne lu oer 'you are beloved to me' so it has to be 'everything that you are is beloved to me', the word tìyawn is the noun as in 'their love is strong'; 'everything that' is just fra'u a
Oel ngati kameie

Also worth noticing... whoever your 'mate' is :) be aware that lor describes generally things and we have sevin 'beautiful mostly of females' and sayrìp 'handsome mostly for males'

Hope that helps ;)

Syulang

thankyou very much - i guess it was meant to be for a female. it wasn't from me to someone else lol  ;D I'm not in a relationship, and I'm straight. thanks for your help, I have a long way to go before I have any type of mastery over Na'vi  :P

Here's a suggestion:
Understand the general mood/atmosphere of what you're reading. If in one sentence you're unable to translate one word but understand the intent of the sentence, you can make a good presumption on what the word means. As for writing? Memorise phrases from the movie, especially wrong ones. Dissect these sentences and understand what each individual word means and how (if it does) affect the sentence. This really helps with vocabulary expansion.

Don't forget the ì on nìtxan!  ;D "Nitxan" doesn't exist.

By the way, I have a friend who pronounced "Kaltxì" as "Kalt-kss-yee" because po thought that the x was like an English x. HRH!

Fì'u. :) The ì's and ä's are important in Na'vi because they are completely different letters than i and a (including in pronunciation). :D Also, be careful with the glottal stops ('). ;) Here, by not writing it in front of eylan (= 'eylan, which would be the spelling of the singular form of friend), you wrote the plural of the word. So what you said was basically "Thank you very much my friends". :) All of that just because of a missing glottal stop! hihi ;)

Anyways, as the others said, great first attempt, and continue on that path! :D

Syulang

hrh.  ;D I asked my brother to pronounce Kaltxi once. he said it like Kalt-xx-ee haha  ;D and how do you do those symbols over the i's? and the symbols ove the other letters? I never knew how to do that lol. and I never know which words to put symbols and which not to. ???

I've tried kxwerty before, but it doesn't work good for me, since it is not backwards-compatible with English and I always end up typing things like "apxtsdefkx". I recommend using the US International keyboard layout. To type ì in US International just press ` and then i. The "`" key is in the upper left, beside 1.

To type the ordinary ` just press ` and then a space. The same follows for ' and " and all other sticky keys.

I think the intended meaning was "I love everything about you" so I'd put nga in the topical.
ngari oeru lu yawne fra'u.

I mean the US-International keyboard under the category "US English".

Enable it by clicking on the keyboard icon on the language bar and selecting US English-International.

Dictionary will tell you. Just look at how the word is spelled. Your question is a bit funny, similar to this one: "How do I know I should put a b instead of a d in an English word?" Dictionary, of course!
