My Practice Dialog: Bumping into a Friend

(1/1)

Kame Ayyo’koti:
After scouring sources for example sentences, I threw together this short dialog to practice learning common greetings and whatnot. I know it's short, but I didn't have anything trustworthy to throw in between the "hello" and "goodbye" sections that made sense, lol. I'd like to know if it sounds alright.

[Person 1] Kaltxì, ma ____!
[Person 2] Oe-l nga-ti kam<ei>e, ma ____! Srake lu nga-ru fpom?
[Person 1] Srane. Nga-ru tut?
[Person 2] Oe-ru lu fpom. Pak! Zene oe k<iv>ä. Oe-ru txoa l<iv>u.
[Person 1] 'A, sran. Txon lefpom, ma oe-yä 'eylan!
[Person 2] K<ìyev>ame!

By the way, is it allowed to put "zene" after the verb it accompanies? For example: K<iv>ä oe zene. (Sounds like Yoda-speak, lol!)

Tìtstewan:
It looks great! :D
As for 'A sran there would work 'A tam or just tam too.

From the LN wiki:

--- Quote from: http://wiki.learnnavi.org/Word_Order_Restrictions ---     Modal verbs can only come somewhere before the secondary verb; the secondary verb cannot happen somewhere before the modal:

    nga yivom tsun = wrong
tsun nga yivom / nga tsun yivom / tsun yivom nga = correct forms.
--- End quote ---
There is only an exception in the Hunt Song:
livu win sì txur oe zene

Kame Ayyo’koti:
Irayo ma Tìtstewan. That's a wiki page I haven't seen before; I'll be sure to add it to my study material.

As for the exception in the Hunt Song, is that considered absolutely wrong or just a "poetic exception"? I know James Cameron changed some of the lines in Avatar to make them sound better, so they're technically incorrect.

Tìtstewan:
I think, it's a poetic exception. :)
The text was written by Cameron, but Paul Frommer has translated it:
Taronway—The Hunt Song

Perfectly correct, congratulation!
Just on second line I would use "Ngaru lu fpom srak?", as it is well-known phrase with this exact word order. I'm not saying your version is not correct, just that word order is unusual.
