Nìftxan hona, sì nìftxan txewm! :o
Nìtxan hona, sì nìtxan txewm!

to say very X simply use X nìtxan, nìftxan is used for comparisons, like:
Oe lu nìftxan sìltsan na nga -> I'm as good as you.
vs.
Oe lu sìltsan nìtxan -> I'm very good.

BTW - what is difference between fìtxan and nìftxan? Both translate the same way, both are adverbs.
Oe lu skxawng skxakep. Slä oe nerume mi.

IMHO just like you said - the ability to be used in comparisons.

Tsakem lolu txewm nìtxan! - That was very scary!
Tsakem lolu txewm fìtxan! - That was so scary! (in general sense, without any comparisons)
Tsakem lolu txewm nìftxan na nguway palulukanä! - That was so scary as thanator's roar!

The backgroung feeling I have from fìtxan/nìftxan, is that the attribute it describes must be not only "very" (nìtxan), but something even higher on the scale, something inconceivably high.

I'd say (from this Na'viteri post) soaiä ayhapxìtu ("members of the family"). soaia is "family"; hapxìtu is "member".
