I think this will be an interesting and challenging project.  Is the going to be a costume or an animatronic prop?  Please explain exactly what you're building and how you plan on accomplishing your plan, if you don't mind.

I would love to see photos when the project is finished. It sounds very interesting.

Hrh, tawtewng, tawtewng, tawtewng...  :D

What's your project zombie?
Its planned to hopefully be finished in time for the Star wars weekends next year.  I'm making a great big General Grievous costume, entirely homemade.  There have been other grievous costumes, but I plan the feet to be what they should, and I should be able to see out the Head of Grievous.  The Arms will split but the second arms I pan to install a motor to do the spinning thing you see in the movie.  That can wait for after Star wars weekends.  I need it to be modular, like the arms and legs and stuff can separate from the torso and re-attach later.  I will need PVC pipes, stuff to make a Grievous head out of, some raw plastic, both tan-white-ish and clear, and then the fabric for the cape.  The legs will be digitigrade, and my legs will strap into the "armor" on the back to stand on the feet which will act a little like stilts.  The cape will be removable and still keep the look of grievous.  I'm going to need a black turtleneck and completely black pants to get in the costume.  Hopefully it should stand the proper height, 7ft 3 inches.  the feet will be spring loaded so it will snap to a standing mode when not acted upon to allow proper walking. Well thats what I got right now.

Here's a link to a site I've been using as reference for some stuff on the costume.

any progress on this? i have seen it done but it is VERY difficult http://www.snydersweb.com/destinations/images/starwarsC3/day2GeneralGrievous-lg.jpg your best bet is making a puppet and masking your body in the costume  http://static.flickr.com/22/28115067_1c69569970_b.jpg
