You guys that already bought the original soundtrack, you bought the CD or the mp3?

Does the CD has any feature that make it way better than the mp3? thx ^^

I bought the CD ... digitally! MP3 quality isn't quite CD quality (192kbps vs 1411kbps). Also, with a CD, you're getting a physical thing. No idea; perhaps pretty graphics in the booklet? Who else has it?

I will definatley be picking up the physical album. Taylor Swift is the only other music I buy the physical albums for.

In regards to your question though, vinyl. Best audio quality ever.  I am working towards getting a USB player to get that high quality sound to listen to :)

Ok not the same quality, but the mp3 sound track is 320kbps I think. Well, lemme think about money issues :P

I got it through the Itunes store.

I grabbed a copy encoded with FLAC, if you know what I mean.  ;)

I may yet pick up a copy on CD, just to have the physical disc.

It is the only CD I have ever gone to the store and bought, and I love it. Go buy it. You must.

I got the mp3 FLAC encoded version of the album, and Horner's magic comes out beautifully. However, I kinda want whatever comes with the physical CD copy, so i may buy the CD version as well. If i do, i'll compare the audio for ya :P

I bought the physical CD. I don't think I've ever bought a digital CD, unless it's only released that way--I've always bought CDs, and for artists from the 80s or before I get the vinyl (even if it has a couple pops here and there). With physical CDs, they only cost a couple dollars more than the digital versions, then you can rip them at whatever quality you want, put it on any MP3 player you want, etc. And listen to it in your car (which is good for those of us who drive old cars, without AUX input). It's funny though--I have a Kindle 2 and I do enjoy buying digital books, since I never loan out my physical books (except to my dad, and mainly because I have few friends and most of them don't like what I read) and they end up just using up space. This rambling of mine happens when I drink coffee :)

As far as the CD version for this, it doesn't really have any extras. There's the typical "thank yous" and credits list. It's a fold out liner--when it's all folded out, there are 4 pictures from the movie, and on the other side there are 3 pictures of Cameron/Horner (the final picture is the actual cover). The pictures only take up the top half of each "square".

I was hoping for some more pictures but all in all, it's a good looking disc. I just don't like that it's in the typical plastic case. Lately I've bought some CDs that are just one piece of cardboard, and on the inside there's a slit where the booklet stays. In these plastic cases, it can be a pain sometimes to get the liner notes out--those two bumps get in the way.

Anyway, I'd say you should go for the CD. I got it for $10.99+tax (so, maybe $2 more than the digital version?). If nothing else, you can prop up the CD and display it somewhere. The only real bonus is having something physical

yeah, the only thing I was concerned is because I live in Brasil, and importation fee is like 100%, so from 12 dollars, it would jump to something near 30 - 40 dollars with all the taxes I think.

I would buy it just for that ;).

I just got the MP3 form of the cd. I haven't listened to all of it, but it is pretty good quality.

The physical media is going to be a collectors' item. You watch. I have 3 copies of the soundtrack CD, bought and paid for from Best Buy (local retail store). 2 are unopened and will remain that way.
