This was a surprise to me that LL didn't get a reward.
analyzing:
-background music was awesome
-Lyrics was good
-execution was not too orginal (like Titanic song)
-she have nice voice

While I agree that its good, I think the award went to the right one. As you said, this was just too close to the Titanic sound, which I think may have been the deciding factor.

Becoming one of 'The People' Becoming one with Neytiri should of been nominated instead in my opinion.

I think James Cameron wanted it, as James Horner did the Titanic score as well.

I don't think so because it's supposed to be the theme of the movie and that is "I see you"

Yea i wasn't a fan of "I See You" so i think it was the right call with it no winning anything

To titanic-ish and i don't really think it fitted in that well

Rolyu

I personally think "I see you" ruined the whole soundtrack and I wish I could cut it off my CD.  I get a headache every time it starts to play.  The "My Heart Will Go On"  Is just about as annoying, but I heard a cool trancy remix somewhere and it was ok.

Remember the song at the end of... I think "The Return of the King."
That was a well done song to end a movie.
I don't know about 90's power ballads though...

you mean the song "into the west" by Annie Lennox, that was awesome(almost as good as "may it be") and i had hoped something similiar would've been made for avatar. But some things you just can't have.
Slow is smooth, smooth is fast.

Ah, that's the one.

Yes, they both fit very well.  I was pleased.

Not so much with this one....

Omg I haven't listened to anything but this soundtrack for 4 days now.

I sure do sleep nice though...

Agreed, I see you was a little boring, especially when compared to such a great film.

As much as I love the rest of the tracks, I do think the Globe went to the right one.
