Here is what I got out of it, although Le'eylan, you impress me nìtxan.

How accurate is the pronounciation of the singers likely to be? If some have even noticed mistakes the actors made, surely the singer has to be "worse". Or do you think Frommer spent so much time teaching Na'vi to the choir and singers too?

a valid point. and that is what is going to make decoding the music EVEN harder. we just have to combine words we know with anticipating common mispronunciation mistakes to get the right words down. maybe relying less on literally what we hear but a tad more on what makes sense...

also, it has come to my attention that it is possible that with the amount of time it has been since these songs were created and now, and the rate at which the language evolves, a true translation that makes solid sense is practically unachievable in combination with the stuff mentioned above.
Oe mllte ngahu on that one.  It's quite a stretch....

I kind of doubt that this song has real Na'vi lyrics. In real Na'vi, about 20% of the time there are 2 or 3 consonants between successive vowels, but this just sounds like CVCVCVCV... almost all the way through.

It's not exactly papyrus, but it's so close with a little tweaking it will look perfect.  :)

That last part is probably based on the Tree Song/Funeral Song (full lyrics):

Quote
We are all seeds
Of the Great Tree,
Whose strength is in our legs
Utralä (a)Nawm
ayrina’l(u) ayoeng,
A peyä tìtxur mì hinam awngeyä

I think it is possible the version at the end of Jake's first flight was the two choruses of the song(taken from that post):

Utralä (a)Nawm
ayrina’l(u) ayoeng,
A peyä tìtxur mì hinam awngeyä

Utralä (a)Nawm
ayrina’ l(u) ayoeng,
A peyä tìrol m(ì) awnga.

Aloha:

My thanks to those who have persisted in trying to determine the lyrics to this, also hauntingly beautiful, musical opus.

It never fails to raise the hair on my neck!

I can say two things here, first of all, after a generous amount of web searching and listening, these should be the actual lyrics to Jake's First Flight:

ta ka tih nu pe
ti nu ka lu peh
ti nu ka lu peh
ka
ti nu ka lu ka lu teh tah
ta ma ke nu
tah teh tih
kah te tih mih lee
(hai-weh!)

(huu-wah!)

(huu-wah!)

ta ka tih tuh
meh
ma na teh teh
eh suuhhhh~

tah tah tih
mata tih
tate tah-ha-la
le tah te ti
a ka neh tah!

tena kun...

Also, I heard a long time ago in an interview from either James Cameron or Paul Frommer that when they designed the songs, they used Na'vi but used a different 'dialect' so it would sound more like a song.   This explains why only a few of these words are in any na'vi dictionary.  I think we will have to wait to find out what this song means, but in the meantime, we can be nearly certain that the first two words of the translation will be "From across..."!  If anyone has any ideas on what the rest could mean, I would love to hear your suggestions!! Thanks!

I really wish Mr. Horner or Mr. Cameron (Or Mr. Frommer, if he knows) would just give us the lyrics already... although guessing and working at the lyrics is fun too.

Ok, so... The first parts of the song are just random sounds (if i got it right),
although the last part is from the Tree song and correct. :)

precisely. the blah from the whole song is nonsense fail.

but at the end, it is a woman singing the tree song, what sounds to be the "choruses" the lyrics have been posted for ages to all known songs.
