Music like the one in Avatar

The Avatar soundtrack is just great. I think we all agree on that ;-). I simply was wondering, whether you know any music like it. In particular such a mixture of classical and modern music elements. I am aware that it won`t be fully the same, since there will be now brilliant images connected to the music, however I would still love to hear some music of the same kind. Hopefully you know some similar music or even a genere that would apply in this case.

Legend of the Seeker Soundtrack
Transformers the Core Soundtrack.

Similar to the Avatar OST is Celine Dion's song "My heart will go on"

Gladiator OST are great too..
And yes i agree on Transformers OST... (Steve Jablonsky)
Rambo IV OST is also impresive... new sound had added to the original one.
And of course some tracks from LOTR, TT and ROTK... (especially Evenstar, Aniron and the sound of Rohan -i cannot recall the topic of it-)

The Last of the Mohicans sound track is absolutely stunning.  Promentory is the best track, which figures, since it goes along with one of the best scenes in cinema history.

Definitely stuff from Hans Zimmerman ("Now We Are Free" from Gladiator is a good example, i think that has been mentioned before). Another group that has made a good album (called Avatar Adventure) are The Soundtrack Masters

At the moment I have unfortunately only a very limited amount of free time, but I will definitely listen to these soundtracks next week. For now I have just started with the transformers soundtrack and I definitely agree that its great^^. I am really looking forward for the other soundtracks...

Yeah, I don't undestand it, why is there another album on iTunes called "Avatar Adventure". It's not part of the official one is it? And it did not come out recently too...

As far as I know it's a seperate group from the official movie soundtrack; "Avatar Adventure" is just one of a couple of their albums...i wish the official Avatar soundtrack album was not 'album only' though!

LOTR soundtrack by Howard Shore has quite a resemblance to some of Avatar's tracks. For the most part very relaxing, claming feeling surrounds you when listening to it, a great way to relax on a rough day.

Sigur Ros's albums Takk... and ( )

I've only really listened to those albums once so far, but when I remember thinking they reminded me of the Avatar soundtrack... Mostly due to the vocals; they even made up their own language on ( ).

Best listened to with headphones or decent speakers.. mine gave me a headache :/
