(Perm tribe) stuff that needs to come

Now here's an interesting turn around.

I may be an avid city lover, but I think TV is terrible. Even the news you watch on the TV today is 90% useless junk. If you are going to live in a situation where everyone must work together to survive, whether in a self-sustained village or a tribe, any time of your day you take to watch TV (even news, especially movies) is taking time away from work that you should be doing.

I haven't voluntarily sat down to watch TV at my house since I got out of middle school. I have gone to see a handful of movies at the theaters over the years... but really, it is the singularly most wasteful thing you can do with your day.

The only real things we need is a source of emergancy communication, such as a satellite phone or solar radio. And to be honest we dont REALLY need that, however, people then realise the truth that people could die, which sadly i dont think people have thought about. IMHO, we should go with one radio/phone, and thats it. Maybe some rations for a few days until we set up the area and things.

Power will have a high price tag, in my opinion the computer (if we bring one) should be use sparingly.

Well, we could have 1 person monitor all email, and like have everyone's open, because email is second best to phone, so if something does happen in the families, someone knows about it and can get the message.

I think the computer should be COMPLETELY open to everybody at all times. Those of us who are serious about this thing won't really use it for unnecessary things anyways.

If we bring a computer, I am not using it. I'm not saying that its a bad idea because we could also have a blog running, telling people about how the "Tawtute Na'vi" are going and to email family, but once I am in the tribe, I would like to CUT ALL TIES with my family.

I'm not going to ask. I've personally been suggesting the idea of having a perm tribe and a seperate eco-village. Technology such as computer could be kept there. If you don't like the idea of a computer you'd never have to see it
