Are you using a type of brush or using marquee ellipses that intersect to make the bloom?

I used the pen tool to make all of the shapes.

I absolutely adore the pen tool because then it means that I don't have to worry about how big I make something. :D

Sounds like you know what your doing.

And unfortunately, the person who made my signature hasn't been active in a very long time :(

Thanks! ^.^

And don't worry, I found it (using brute force tactics). :P

Woo, adding this to the website soon!

I have been advised to reduce the number of Avatar pictures on the site. Turns out, not all of the pics available on the internet are cleared copyright wise, and while it is unlikely that project tribal is using any illegal pictures, better to be safe than sorry...this would make a great substitution!

Cool. ^.^

Once I've finalized the logo, I'll start redesigning the actual website to fit around it. It'll make it easier since all the content is already there, I just have to make it look pretty. ;D

I like the shades of colour, but maybe the leaves should still be green. Looking good 8)

Personally I love the blue. Maybe the two outside leaves should be green? I don't know.

I tried green, and it came out like this:

As compared to this:

And I discovered that when you drag one on top of the other it creates this colour (which I think looks pretty cool too):

Actually the fact that different colour schemes work makes me think that we could have different coloured logos for different areas of the project. (Think Mochimedia)

Now now now, you're not the only web designer around here... (I'm just not as experienced)

Tonbogiri

Heh, I am no web designer myself...but it would be good to have a site with a more professional feel to it. I hope that we can count on our two web designers!

If you want to help, that's fine. ^.^

However, two different designers working on the same project can cause it to have conflicting styles, so we're going to have to be very careful about that.

I'm more of a layout designer, I'm not good at designing actual logos or anything.

It looks really good. It's to-the-point, simbple, yet effective, and it's recognizable.

A suggestion might be to either stripe it with the uneven, near-symmetric stripe patterns that na'vi have on their skin, and/or add elements of bioluminescence to it, either similar to na'vi skin "glow dots" or more like something from Pandoran plant life. Then again, that might mess up the very well-functioning simplicity and pureness of the design. But it could also add that element of techno-indiginousness that I imagine is an important aspect of this tribe.

For the font; it looks beautiful, and I'd keep it as it is. Still, though, do you think it would be possible to add the structure from the Papyrus font to it, while retaining the lines and shapes from how it is now, just to link it slightly more to what we've come to recognize as na'vi or avatar related writing?

That was this outsider's (who would join as an insider if he just had had enough time) bugging in on something that actually doesn't concern him, but that still caught his interest. Bugging out again now.  ;)

The problem with that is that this is not a Na'vi tribe, simply a tribe inspired by Avatar, so something related to the fandom of Avatar would be taking a step backwards.

First off, I hate Papyrus, and personally I think that they could have come up with a much better font to use than something as stereotypical as Papyrus, secondly, view the reason above for why we're not trying to relate it directly with Avatar.
