v1.0 (aka the "rough cut")

v2.0

I have completed my first concept for some sort of proper "logo" for the tribe. Since the tribe will be a collective society, I'm inviting you to join me on my design process. All ideas are welcome, and I'll try out as many as I can, though I probably won't post all of them.

I'll also update my design for the actual website as I make it.

Tschau!

Awesome! Karma cookie for you!

I really like the font. No issues there at all. But are the "P" and the "T" lowercase? How would uppercase look? I also like the greenery you made but think it should perhaps be a bit larger.

No, they're not lowercase. That's just the style of the font.

What is that font? I kind of like it.

Maybe you should make the word "tribal" blue or something like that.

Wow, awesome job! i Think the letters would look cool if you made them kinda like the na'vi stripes so light blue/dark blue stripes.

Hmm... I don't think that bringing attention to the word tribal alone is really that important, but I'll try out a couple different shades.

I'm not really sure what you mean. In what way? The letters are too thin to really have any effective pattern on them.

Wahoo! Just got back, and first thing I see is this fantastic work. Excellent job!

Second thing I saw was the new smileys - anyone else think how awesome they are  ;D

Third thing - All the posts! Looks like we may be out of our dark time. Let us all hope that we can continue to contribute in a continous way! (try saying that 100 times...)

Could you not thinken the letters, just enough to make a patern. If you wish ill do a rough copy of what i was thinking and have you fix it up?

That'd be great, because I'm not really sure what you mean. :P

Yup! I'm using the new smileys too! Love them. Glad to see you back! Lets get this project going again!

And as for the logo, I just though having the word "tribal" being blue would be cool. Nothing else.

I actually like the design as it is. The style of the font suggests a tribal aspect, almost "zen brush" style in it's writing - plus the simple colours (black writing on white background with a very nice little logo) mean that it is easy to look at and understand. If it were made any thicker, or given more colours, I'm not sure it would convey our nature philosophy message as well.

But hey, just my opinion!

Well, the first one was a rough cut, simply putting my ideas on paper, so I'm not surprised :P

I know there's room for improvement, but absolutely nothing has come to mind since I first saw it.

Well, when I develop a logo, I keep two things in mind:

1. It must work in B&W (I generally make the logo in B&W and then color it. In this one I did it backwards, so it doesn't work quite as well as it should. Oopsie on my part  ;)).

A-like so (or something like that):

2. It must be able to stand for the company (in this case the project) by its own, no title necessary.

A-like so again:

I also realized that blue kinda fit the theme better than green. It also made the logo look more floral, and less leafy. So I turned it blue and scrunched it together.

So now you know how I came to that final logo :P

Then I put a gentle gradient on the text to make it fit in better. That's pretty much it :P

Off-topic: Kinda random, but I really like the handwritten font in your sig. Do you remember what it's called?

Sounds like you know what your doing.

And unfortunately, the person who made my signature hasn't been active in a very long time :(
