Kaltxi
I would like to bring up a highly important discution
1. What form of Government should we have?
I propose we have a type of anarcistic commune ruled by a vote of everybody
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anarchist_communism
2. What type of legal system shall we use
I propse we just settle everything with a vote
3. Religion I think we should not impose any religions laws

im really not sure what type of government

well im gonna say tribal legal system you know a leader who all complaints are taken to and they have to decide but they have advisors to help.

and if people want to follow areligion they can but we shouldnt have a set religion

I don't like the idea of one leader its to much power and then the people don't get an opinion

but if a leader has advisors and there are people who are equal (or almsot equal in power to them) such as a spiritual leader or a hunting leader ect

they can meet regularly to discuss different things and problems =ect

I think we shouldent have a chief its better to have everybody vote on things

Even if he has advisors they might not think in the intersts of the people

That's only the case in a large government. When there's only a maximum of 150 people, an eyktan with advisers works the best. If you choose the eyktan wisely, he will be kind and will take everybody's opinion. It's more like a democracy than a king or queen. Everybody "votes" and the popular opinion will pretty much be what happens. The Eyktan just has the last word.

Especially since it's a tribe, a tribal system will work the best. Kind of fits. :P

Ok but I think if enough people agree the ektan must complie
and what you said about large goverments is not always true it some times happens in small groups too
also thats not actually a tribe system that you described thats what I was thinking a tribe system is a despotism where the people don't vote at all just what he says goes

Whatever. What I'm saying is monarchy democracy, kind of like the Parliament in England.

Heres how I see it. Make it like a bunch of town hall meetings from those old west movies where the mayor presides but people voice their ideas and opinions and everyone is heard. The Eyktan has final say after agreement with everyone over which idea they like best. The Eyktan listens and decides best course of action for the tribe.

I like what Bagget is saying.

As a governmental system, I think an amalgamation of the Roman government with a town-hall type leadership with a dash of Tribal council is the best option. They Eyktan should be in charge, but should have some other member have equal weight. We would gather at some pre-decided time, and talk about the things going on in the Tribe. Weekly, or maybe Bi-weekly would be best. Then the people would vote, and then the Eyktan and the other person would have their say. Advisors would also be a good idea, as Bagget suggested.

As for Religion, there will not be any set religion. I usually try not to speak in absolutes, but not only is this one my domain, it is extremely important. There can be no room for compromise on this one. NO set religion, no restriction of beliefs, or this will die on the branch. I don't think anyone disagrees, though ^_^

Yeah, that's kind of what I was going for. Like mimic the ancient representative democracy, with some changes.

I don't like repersentitive demcrocy I like when the people get to vote for themselfves not have sombody vote for them
But I think what Bagget said is ok but the ektan can just go against what the magority of people said

No, I said representative democracy but with some changes. Most likely it will function something like this;

-Issue comes up

-"Council" (Eyktan and advisors) decides what to do.

-People vote on what to do

-Majority vote passes

-Eyktan has final vote if it's a tie.

Txon Taronyu

Well thats not a repersetitive government but thats sounds good its basiclly what others said just with more finite rules so good job

Mindas Arran

I'm guessing that a real tribe would be about 50 or so close-knit individuals at most, so likely the leader would already know the mind of the tribe. The leader is there to lead, and that's what he or she should do. The tribe should either trust the leader to do the job or not have one in the first place. That's why it's so important that the leader be capable of the task (or it's time for a coup haha).

Txon Taronyu

I don't like that Idea where we get no say lets go with txontaw's idea

Mindas Arran

I didn't say that nobody got to voice their opinion. I said that in a tight knit group you don't have to have a formal system for voicing your opinion, since you'd all likely be talking about various issues all day.

-Issue comes up

-Tribe is talking about it over the course of the day.

-People voice their opinions.

-Eyktan has the final decision. (Isn't that why they are there in the first place?)

Txon Taronyu

Lets just stick with txontaw's idea yours gives the ektan to much power and the ablitiy to ignore the people
