The general meal is about 2 pounds. Multiply that by 100, 200 pounds of meat for 1 meal. x2, 400 pounds a day. x31, 1600 pounds of meat to feed 100 people a month. 1 deer doesn't weight that much.

Yeah, I was relating to someone else's post. But 1 deer should last about 1week-2weeks the first few meetups.

And if we're smart, we'll have another deer ready before the first runs out. Plus, we should be able to find some edible vegetation as well, am I right? I mean, I'm certainly no expert on living off the land and such (though trying to become one!!)

...I tried to grow corn once. Bad idea- it died right before the actual pulps started devoloping. But it's not hard to learn. I can eat leaves, though they might kill me faster.

this is for those folks in location brainstorming to figure out for us. If you see anything about tribal peoples you will find that their diets are mostly vegetarian. It's just easier that way and it's more true to our metabolisms preferences. We evolved as opportunists not hunters we just got too smart for our own good.

If you're talking to me, yes i have. I wasn't promoting the avoidance of meat i was just saying that our natural diets consist of more vegetation than meat. my original post was promoting our use of hunters anyways. and this is starting to frustrate me so im going to slow down my BS output levels.

Just to mention an earlier post about a deer lasting 1-2 weeks. how exactly do you expect to keep meat that long (unless we are in a cold environment) speaking from experience here in Australia, meat goes off after 1-2 days at the longest when not in a refridgerator.
