even if they did move the child to the eco-village there's the issue of truancy so if it starts to become a possibilty that someone is going to have a child someone should get certified for homeschooling but that's a different topic altogether.

Well, I'm sure someone here will do that. But wouldn't they have to learn English as a requirement or does language not matter?

i don't see us speaking much Na'vi anyway i'll speak in psuedo Na'vi, but i don't think i'll be fluent by then. i have things to worry about other than Na'vi. (i know, it hurts to say that) Besides i haven't learned anything language-wise the whole time i have been participating in this planning and preparation.

I have also got cought up in this discussion, I was compiling a complete book on Na'vi for myself but have kinda dropped it, must do some more work on it tomorrow. Remember we have years before this becomes a possibility which is plenty of time to get better at na'vi :)

Yeah, speaking Na'vi is another one of those things that would be really cool but is probably unrealistic.

and 4 years is more than enough for those who are committed to be fluent, and those who aren't as motivated to at least have a basic vocab and grammar base.

the best way to learn a language is to be surrounded by people who speak it. :)

Exactly why I wish there were more speakers so that you could surround yourself in the language before you got there.  :(

I think we're getting broadband soon, then I'll try to find a Skype-compatible headset. That's the best way over handing out your number over the internet.

I heard the skype was experiencing a lot of lag. Plus I have to pipe my internet through my mobile (cell) where my comp with headset is. Where I have broadband I have no headset :(
