*palmface* I knew that, I don't know why I ignored it, but yeah. I'm searhing around looking for possible places, that's about what I'm going to serve for now, until I'm out of college, a job for awhile and then I can show up.

Yeah, I also think the perm tribe and the summer camp should go to the same place. The perm people could help the campers adjust to things and they'd never be commited. They could leave when they want.

Although we'd have to consider making room for ~150 extra people, as well as the fact that they will most likely disturb all the animals.

You really think we're gonna get that many people interested? I mean, this ain't a little kiddy camp! We've got 26 or so interested in the perm-tribe and we'll be lucky to hold on to one fifth of that by the time we actually do this. We need to generate a LOT more interest to even get the camp going for real.

Also, we'd need to know for how long during summer these camps would be. Three (give or take) 2-week camps? The full three months of summer? Weekend camps?

Why not have several options? There could be the weekend thing for those who just want some fun, the 2 and 3 week stints for the big fans (like me ;D), and the entire summer for the die-hards, including hunting and camping in trees. The weekend thing could also be a touristy-type affair, just to show people what we're about. With cabins and such, but the outdoor experience may cost more.

Tourism could be a fantastic way of creating revenue.

The only thing here that concerns me is how this would effect the perm-tribe if we do decided to use the same location as the summer camp (which I personally think is a REALLY good idea). I just don't want it to turn into the perm-tribe members basically just being camp counselors. Maybe we make the summer camp a summer/fall thing only or something like that?

What about semi-seperate statuses for part and full-timers? That way the don't HAVE to become camp counselors if they don't want to. Maybe even a semi-seperate site for full-time Na'vi. Idk, it would take some working out.

as long as the summer-camp peopel pulled theri weight around teh camp im guessing they would be welcomed by all of us who are gonna be there permanantly. they have to not be afraid of getting their hands dirty and the perm people can teach them teh lanuage and the skills that we will use everyday

Yeah, I really wouldn't mind a bit of hand holding and such. Really I just want people to be able to experience this as much as they want. Just so long as nobody is really being handicapped in the end.

In year 7 and 8 at my school they pretty much do this. Your house goes out to a camp in the woods (just 1 big hut/messhall and lots of small ones for sleeping in) and you live there for a week. There is one permanent resident however who lives there with his familly.

During the week you go out and do bushwalking (overnight for 2 nights), archery, firemaking, cooking, carving, etc you get the idea and I have to say it is one of the best times I have had.
This was of course all guided by adults (staff of school and perm resident) and had a good structure in the way that, when you arrived you were but into groups which rotated around either toilets, cooks, dishpigs, general mess/garbage people. Its not like they had to pull their weight and be totaly self sufficient which I think would scare off quite a few potential camp-goers

Yeah, we did the same thing in year 6 at my school. Though it was a while ago, I remember really liking it. Something like this but more than likely on a smaller scale seems like it would be a good idea.
