Tortoise and the hare
« on: September 03, 2011, 04:58:28 pm »
Tse ma oeyä eylan, oe nivew wivìntxu ayngaru mipa vurit, slä hasey ke soli tsar mi. Ha, oel ngolop tìralpengit tìrolä...

This translation is nothing more than exercise and was not intended as attempt for creating singable text, that's why I publish it here and not in Pamtseo nìNa'vi nì'aw (also, as that thread it not too active, I think this place is better...)
This song is interesting from more views:
- it is played by Moody Blues and I like their style and older songs
- if you read text of song, it is not clear what it is about until you read the title. Song is loosely based on Aesop's fable; hare ridicules a slow-moving tortoise and they compete in running. Hare is clearly winner, but as he is ahead in the race, he decides to take a rest and asleep. Meanwhile tortoise which goes without any pause slowly reaches finish line...
- first and second strophe seems to be written from perspective of tortoise, while third one from perspective of hare

Mllte oe Sireayä mokrihu: seysonìltsan ma Elf.  Oeru sunu Moody Blues nìteng. :D

If you want I can move this, or copy it to Pamtseo nìNa'vi nì'aw, but I don't mind having song translations on this board. :)
