Original Song:
Home on the range-CowBoy Songs

Oh, give me a home where the Buffalo roam
   Where the Deer and the Antelope play;
Where seldom is heard a discouraging word,
And the sky is not cloudy all day.

       Chorus
       Home, home on the range,
Where the Deer an the Antelope play,
Where seldom is heard a discouraging word,
And the sky is not clouded all day.

How often at night, when the heavens are bright,
With the light of the glittering stars
Have I stood here amazed, and asked as I gazed,
Does their glory exceed that of ours.

       Chorus

I love the wild flowers in this bright land of ours,
   I love the wild curlew's shrill scream;
The bluffs and white rocks, and antelope flocks
That graze on the mountains so green.

       Chorus

The air is so pure and the breezes so fine,
The zephyrs so balmy and light,
That I would not exchange my home here to range
   Forever in azures so bright.

       Chorus

Original Message: Per the Seattle panel, Karyu Pawl suggested that "Home on the Range" would sound well if translated into and sung in Na'vi. Anyone wish to join me in creating such a song for him?

Ftxavanga Txe′lan

I'd like to help, but I don't think I'd be good enough in Na'vi for writing/translating the actual lyrics of the song. :( It might end up full of mistakes if I do. ???

Ftiafpi

Well, I don't mind doing the translation, really what I need is someone who can sing it.

'Oma Tirea

What are the lyrics?... or are they (still) being developed?

Ftxavanga Txe′lan

Wou hihi, okay. ;D Well, my voice isn't bad, but I can't sing high notes and the technology available for me to record my voice isn't very good. :P I don't have any microphone, I can just sing in front of my computer. ???

Still need to be developed.

hemmond

Well... I might be able to sing, but I don't know this song at all, so I'd be great if you put here Youtube Video with the original song. :)

Sure thing. I've been struggling to find the free time to work on the lyrics but I hope to have a bit of it done this afternoon.

During my holiday in Turkey, sitting in the lobby waiting for my parents I came up with some lyrics that closely resemble the original and they're singable (I tried of course :P).

Tivìng oer kelku.
Tseng a eyktan oe lu.
Tseng a ayyerìk tul nìwin.
Kawkrr ngal ke stawm aylì'ut akawng.
Ulte taw layu ean fratrr.

Kelku mì tayo.
Tseng a ayyerìk tul nìwin.
Kawkrr ngal ke stawm aylì'ut akawng.
Ulte taw layu ean fratrr.

I hope it is a use to your translation.

Well that's a typo :P (The -t on txayo... I wasn't really sure about the -t on kelku.)

An excellent start! I've still been tied up trying to revise the "Whole new world" song translation I made ages ago but that should be finished today and I can return to this. I'll definitely use your beginning and expand on it. Irayo!

eejmensenikbenhet

Ooh, I love the Mipa Kifkey translation! Needs some shaving here and therefore I'm honoured to be able to help you a little with this song while you work on Mipa Kifkey.

Finished my changes to Mipa Kifkey, should be much more up to date now.

Because I'm a skxawng. :P (For some reason I was thinking you were making it plural "fields" and failed to notice the mì+)

eejmensenikbenhet

Haha doesn't matter, I saw it and I thought  ??? huh?
I'm more of a skxawng than you, believe me expecially when it's about lì'fya leNa'vi.
