Ma Yawntu, Lu Wew Wrrpa (Baby, It's Cold Outside nìNa'vi)
« on: December 17, 2010, 05:39:30 am »
Inspired by all the Na'vi Christmas Carols, I decided to try my own. Not exactly a traditional Carol, but a holiday song nonetheless.  :D  I didn't translate exactly, in fact I only tried to fit the tune and the general theme, but you know. It's still practically the same song.

(Note: In most cases, oe is pronounced "weh". I also tended to omit "oe" and "nga" a lot when I felt like it could be picked up from context and was needed to fit the rhythm. The bold is the tutè, and the italics is the tutan.)

Ma Yawntu, Lu Wew Wrrpa
Baby, It's Cold Outside

Oe zene kivä
Ma yawntu, lu wew wrrpa
Zenke ‘iviawn
Ma yawntu, lu wew wrrpa
Fìkaym lamu
Prrte fwa nga frrfen lu
Nìtxan sìltsan
Oer ngeyä metsyokxit tivìng

Oeyä sa’nokä txe’lan
Nga win siväpi pelun?
Ke layu kaw’it mawey
Fìtxep som si moeru
Nìngay zene tivul oe
Lam ftxìlor seyri ngey
Kxawm naertsyìp oer nì’ul lu
Tìng mikyun ko pamtseoru

Ayeylanìl fpayìl
Slä lu kawng käsatseng
Fì’ut lu hiyìk
Kea srung lu käsatseng
Nìrangal oe ngati
Tanhìna ngey menari
Tsivun livonu
Ngeyä nikre nìtxan lor lu

New pivlltxe san kehe
Kxawm txo rikx lok nga oe
Tsayun pivlltxe san fmoli
Pelun zene ngal txivìng oeti
Zenke ‘iviawn
Rä’ä fpivängak
Nang, slä lu wew wrrpa (‘awsiteng)
Ma yawntu lu wew wrrpa (‘awsiteng)

EDIT: Lots of edits on the song. Now it kinda sorta rhymes.  :D

I will supply an exact translation later, but right now I have to get to school.  ;D

Thank you, I love it too. ^^

Lots of edits to the song, now I'm no longer completely ashamed of my horrible songwriting skills.  ;D

Well... It seems to be unfinished, but IMHO it can be finished... Please nìTsìng Lekinama Yayo, pubic here the original tune (or sing & record it. And put it here). :) I think, this can be a really nice song... But it deserves to be finished...
