How long before a thread should be locked? (If no activity occurs)

Never Lock Obsolete Threads

I know that none of us like necroposting and some people (especially new people) aren't aware that they have posted in an old thread. It annoys users and makes the poster upset and causes them to feel that they have done something terrible. Therefore, I propose that we establish a certain amount of time that an inactive thread should undergo before it is deemed 'dead' and locked. Should we have a a filing system? Like an archive to place these 'dead' threads into?

Do you like the idea, or are you against it? Post your opinions and vote here.

I think, that topic with incomplete song projects should be left opened, because someone else could get that project and start completing it... Here are many unfinished songs, which can be finished, when someone have enough time. :)

I agree!  ;D What about if the song has been completed? Should we then put it in the archive?

Then I'll put it into list of LN member-created songs and people can provide him feedback of what he has don good and where it can be improved...  And then author (or someone else) can make new version of recording and put it into thread...

I think we should have an archive to store all of the old threads which can be referenced at a later date. That's just my opinion though.

In my opinion, topics related to creativity should not be locked.

I like this thought.  Some things are never truly finished...

This. And even completed songs could be left opened, as new words can be available during the time to improve song. Or old mistakes can be corrected. For example see thread "A Whole New World - Translated Song" in Fan Music - it was started more than year ago, but seems, that text is about to be improved. This wouldn't be possible on locked thread and creating new thread seems to be unpractical.
And if new users just post something like "wou, that's great song" - I think there's nothing wrong, and author can be delighted that people take care about his work.

Never lock obsolete posts.       The thing that bothers me about it,   Its like locking an evidence room, and cases are still unsolved.  I'd be pretty pissed if they locked me out of the evidence room.

I say just let it be. it seems the majority also agrees here.

EDIT: Necros only are annoying if they dont add anything. latecomers who post a grammar insight or a tweak or some other view/insight are fine and very welcomed. meaningless bumps, shame. but everyone should know that. if not, most people only need to be told once not to late post unless adding insight. just me on necroposting.
