well I will be up for recording the guitar part, but would have to wait until I have someone sing it so I can sing along with that person and record my own singing so that you can add it to everyone else's aymokri.

I'm having problems with grades too...and also my new headset mic, because the old one broke and I'm still figuring out how to get this new one up and running.

I still want to be a part of this :)

I'm working with my singing teacher and she says I have a huge range....goes up to soprano when I'm warmed up :3

I think, that the best way to make a song is, when someone, who'll know all the song, will sing it, then others will make their own parts with record they got from the first one... And then the first one will make only his part as well... so timing will fit... and everyone can make it in his/her spare time. :) And TS/Skype discussions will only be: what to sink, who will sing what, how etc... I'm interested, but I'm afraid, that I haven't got much time now... I've to get better at school... But I'll be watching this thread. If there will be something, what I can do, I'll tell you. :) I used to play the piano, I'm playing the guitar (beginner at it) and I can sing some parts...

I can also help with the song in the form of instruments; I play guitar. once we know the tune of the song, I can string together (no pun intended ;P) some chords to make it a full song.

is this something the singers will have to figure out the tune themselves? because, there's this weird thing I have with my voice- I cannot sing, at all, unless I am having someone sing with me; either the singer of the song or a friend. *shrug* so, if we are supposed to sing our own tune, I couldn't do it. I'd have to wait until the entire song has been sung by at least one person so I could add my voice.

until then, however, I am, like previously mentioned, able to put together chords for the song; so that it is more than just singing.

darn. I'm late to say precisely this.

Also can do bass recording if needed. (my voice sucks xD)

akiwiguy

hrh. ma Tirea, your voice does not suck.

ma Tirea, we can do that together, if you'd like. I am still somewhat a beginner; I cannot play bar/power chords yet. other than that, I'm pretty good.

I can play barre and power, I'm pretty decent at rock guitar. I can play at least a third of the Metallica discography all the way through. I've been trying to soften up my style lately though and play other stuff.

Also thanks everyone for makin me feel better about my bad singing...even though y'all never heard me sing, just poorly räp hrrh

I just wanted to show interest in this project. :)

Neyn'ite Te Tsahìk Txeptsyìp'ite

ah, I was afraid someone better would come along! no use in me being there, ma Tirea, if you can play so well. ;)

see? this is looking better and better.

I really think if we ALL work together, we can come up with a really nice awesome sounding song. ;D

so do we have any overall plan as to what it should sound like? any genre in mind to model after?

'Oma Tirea

I'm rooting after just about anything electronica :D

Sorry if this is super necropost, but I'd say that I can compose fairly well as long as it is not some super-modern atonal music or composed entirely of chords/guitar. I do classical/folk-ish stuff pretty well with MuseScore.

And if you want really postmodern random music (maybe that is the style of Pandora?) you can always fire up Ramugen...

And I use Audacity on Linux quite well for mixing...
Previously Ithisa Kīranem, Uniltìrantokx te Skxawng.

Name from my Sakaš conlang, from Sakasul Ältäbisäl Acarankïp

"First name" is Ačankif, not Eltabiš! In Na'vi, Atsankip.

eejmensenikbenhet

Well, unfortunately the project is still on hold. :(
The aim is ofcourse a Modern/Pandoran Choir-like song in Na'vi, but I don't think it will become an a capella song so people that can help me with the guiding music are always welcome.

Tirea Aean

Is someone gonna compose a score or is everyone on their own?

How is this gonna be organized? also, since it will (I assume) be done over the internet, people will be throwin around all kinds of different versions with their takes added into the mix. How will that be organized?

eejmensenikbenhet

1) Yes, there will be scores, as I believe said some time ago. Would be quite difficult to work without scores.
2) There will be "practise sessions" through PonguPllte/Skxaype so that no one sings diffrently from the rest (with differently I mean for example stress and volume). Also these sessions will be good for practising the right pronounciation. When everyone is happy with everyone's work, we will all record in individually and then it will indeed be mixed.

Tirea Aean

That will be difficult with the inevitable lag that all VoIP programs have. it will have to be a one at a time thing.

also, if we're doing that, we alse even need a schedule of days/times to check in for practice.

but before even that, we need to compose/agree on a score.

Well for those sessions, the lag is not very annoying because that way we can all sing incividually and that way everyone can give advice and such and learn from others.

I've been working on my soprano register with my singing teacher ;) buuuut availability is a problem for me
