Kaltxì, everyone!

Oeri nerume niNa'Vi plltxe (Rutxe correct me if I'm wrong)

I started learning Na'Vi since I watched the movie and so far I find the language really awesome... I'm a little confused with the words "Toruk makto" and "Ikran Makto" and since they mean Last shadow ride and Banshee ride  does it mean "Toruk maktoyu" or "ikran maktoyu" for last shadow rider or banshee rider? Makto is verb and a person specializing in a verb (english -er) is to be added with -yu, isn't it? I only saw Toruk makto and not toruk maktoyu...

First sentence seems ok but you don't need a topical marker, you are learning so you are the subject, that said, because to learn can take an object, you should use oe-l.

It seems that in titles (like toruk makto) the normal grammatical rules don't apply but you are correct, it should be toruk maktoyu.

Yeah, I think the missing out of the -yu in the film is either a mistake (which I doubt due to the film's high standard) or it could be just a Na'vi idiom. much like how we make the verb "ride" into a noun, in the case of a rollercoaster for example, in English.

It seems to make sense in the context of titles though. If we consider Jake Sully toruk makto, when translated it means Jake sully rides toruk which is a reasonable translation. When the name gets dropped is when it becomes idiomatic. Personally, I reckon it's meant to be an idiom used in titles.

This would explain the word eyktan then as well. If we had a Na'vi called Paytir and they were the leader then it would start as Paytir eyk (Paytir leads), then Paytir is dropped to eyk to mean leader, and then, as Paytir is male, eykan  which mutates to eyktan, this then attached back to Paytir to get the modern form of the noun leader (which looks a bit weird).

I think this is one of those cases where James Cameron over-rode Frommer in pronunciation. If you listen closely, the makto is a bit rhotic at the end - it sounds like maktor. Makes sense for those watching the movie.
