ru suffix

is the suffix ru used to determine a job someone has or something like maktoru for rider? I just though I read that somewhere, here probably don't remember where.

Irayo(sounds like a Japanese word in my opinion)

Yeah I think there as a lot of Na'vi stuff that reminds me of Japanese too. :)

-yu makes a noun a doer of said noun. 
-ru is the Dative suffix (I gave the book to him<DAT>)

Well, this features (or very similar) may be found in literally thousands of languages worldwide, so N'avi doesn't have more in common with Japanese than, let's say, Navajo.
