FEEDBACK
« on: May 27, 2010, 02:57:38 pm »
Here, like Kekerusey suggested, is a place to put member FEEDBACK that quite doesnt fall into the suggestions category, but should still be posted as I, Tirea Aean, and my KSs would benefit from reading it. Put thoughts, and the such here. Advice and suggestions should continue to be posted in SUGGESTIONS thread.

I'm disappointed. As TA of UTC+10, I find that no one showing up is quite demoralizing. Did I not tell everyone specifically last Friday that this Friday's meeting would be at the same time? Tirea came on today to take a look at our class and he was VERY disappointed. Rawer. If this was a communication problem, +10, please let me know or else heads will roll. I feel that when you've made the commitment to go to the first class you should have the perseverance to go to the second. I am very, very, disappointed in your actions, +10.

aw...where are the students? where are the people willing to learn? +10?...This is sad.....very sad only. :( I stayed up supremo late to catch this class and no one shows up...very sad...I will be trying to catch every class today...I guess I shall go to bed, wake up, catch the classes, and possibly get on Lesson 2 Podcast...<sigh

Yes, Ngawng showed up! Congratulations on being the first ever person in PNgN history to not show up to the first class and then showing up as the only person in the next.

I am honestly quite unhappy about this.

SON, I AM DISAPPOINT, if you'll excuse my using the meme.

Well, I got stuck at the Optus shop because my mum decided to swap her Phone Service Provider then and there, it took 2 hours of contract signing and explaining jargon to finally do it. :(

...And to think, we went there originally to just scope out options and phones available... It was supposed to take half an hour...

I thought that it was:

1. Lame that no +10 guys showed up (not that is directly the fault of those people)
2. Great to hear Le'eylan and Kayrìlien teach! Kxuki for those two!
3. Interesting that not NEARLY as many people attended today as last Friday...People must have been busy today...
4. Generally a good day...except the verb tenses are all great except rolun vs. ramun...very abstract linguistic distinction that I had a hard time explaining in way that is even close to simple.

I'm very glad that the people that ARE showing up are:

-- Enjoying themselves. (Most important part IMO)

-- Remembering what they've learned.

-- Asking questions! (You can't learn anything if you don't ask, and I'm glad that everyone is doing so!)

Regarding attendance, I think a lot of it has to do with the Memorial Day holiday, at least for U.S.A. people. Also, this is the end of the school year for a LOT of people, so can understand that. The fact that quite a few people in my time zone decided to stick it out and come back for more torture fun really makes me feel great. It fills me.

Thanks again, everyone! Hope to see you all again next Friday!

Ok so with this last weekends lesson was Lu, and Ke lu, witch is basicly like saying "Is" and "Is not" I was thinking of the description what would i do to describe something with a simile "Like" or "As"

Eg "She is like a flower" or more specifically for Na'vi "Neytiri is like a blue flower" [blue flower = seze] its been bugging me

maybe we can do that this next lesson! ;) I wish to expand on nouns and adj...so why not throw like/as in there to say that nounA is like nounB. XD <there is just one technical problem with like/as...but lets not worry too much about it. ;)>

I was only introduced to this on friday past, but I found the lesson extremely practical, and direct in way that just translating english, is not.
I know its probably not feasible, but I'm very hungry for more lessons to be made available more quickly :P

but either way, the teaching structure and methods are very effective =]

Very good work with the version 2 of the lesson 1 podcast. I like it very much.
Now I'm able to repeat the lesson (including the pictures) with my mini mediaplayer.

Overall my initial impressions on this project is very good. Everything is very easyto understand and thusfar it is an effective way to learn a language.  That being said last week in the -6 timezone we got offtopic quite a bit due to our TA and Tirea getting into conversations on lessons we would learn later among other things. I dont know if this is a problem in other groups.

Yeah...I actually would like to apologize for any disctraction or loss of progress for anyone so far...I am about to make lesson two -uninterrupted edition- <LOL> and hopefully it will help...but of course the thing is that I will not be translating, only reinforcing pronunciation and how the words should sound...

I must admit <and many others will agree> that verbs are difficult territory. Especially tenses/aspects and such. Thanks for this. I really love feedback and frankly, without feedback, nothing would get any better, it would just get worse. This is my source of reflection and motivation for improvement. I will make a note to reserve all such TA discussions to the TA conferences.
