A repeat of my first, hopefully constructive, criticisms of the first lesson:

It seemed to work well for my daughter (Ska'ayu) but not so well for me as I have something like two months on her (in terms of Na'vi learning) and have been using that to fairly good effect so the first lesson was fairly basic stuff to me. I was also rather surprised by the format which I thought was going to be more visual i.e. moving away from Na'vi-English translations to a more picture-Na'vi association format.

So, no criticism of our TA who was excellent when queried about specific things, I admit I had mixed feelings but the truth is I do not know what is in the lesson designer's minds and it may be that the initial intent is to bring all the students up to a basic level of competence before moving on to some of the more challenging stuff. With specific regard to me, I think I occupy that middle ground where I am no longer a beginner but am far from being an expert.

So yeah, it didn't work so well for me but I plan to keep attending, optimistic that the lessons will get more challenging, more useful in the future.

I have since seen the podcast version for lesson 1 and thought it was much, much better than the lesson we first had ... I don't think that was a criticism of our TA merely teething problems for the project.

I thought the second lesson was better than the first however I can't claim to be huge fan of the pictures being used ...  I prefer the more real ones for the first podcast.

I won't be available for the 3rd lesson (watching a band at a local pub) so I hope the third podcast will be up reasonably quick? :)

No I mean if your class has been using my prezis.
We're several TAs that are making them.
And if it were mine that you were talking about,
I would like to know how you want the pictures to be?
Should it be pictures of humans from google, pics I've taken or maybe at na'vis from the movie?

I've only been able to make it to the first session due to the fact that my computer decided to break (hardware issue with the keyboard).  However, I went back to the lessons at a different time with a different computer, and I have to say, I LOVE the improved presentations.  I can't say if I remember all of what was in the original first lesson, but I remember just about everything from the improved version.  And this is without the podcast.

Once I get the computer fixed, you will see me on the Teamspeak again.

I write this as my time zone, GMT -5, is going through their third lesson, and I am probably going to head over to the prezi after I wrtie this message.

Tirea Aean and Le'eylan, I greatly thank both of you (and anyone else that is involved in the project) for starting this monumental project to help us all learn Na'vi.

It is unfortunate to hear about the trouble your computer has been giving you.

But Thank you for still hangin in there and catching up with the prezis. I am slackin on the podcast, but I will definately get to it as soon as I can...

I thought stuff went well today, I heard reports of a not so good +10 class again...I am not sure what it was, but apparently, +10 attendance has been down lately...attendance in general has gone down...it may be school for a majority of people, it also may be the TS3 server update...Whatever it is, I hope it gets worked out soon, so we can have the succes we had in week one.

We opened up alot of possibilities on TS tonight, we reinforced how valuable Tree of Voices is.  I liked getting the feel of the other TA's for once, im not gonna get the opportunity to be off on friday alot, Le'eylan's group is my main home.  the guys in -8 rock, this is our backbone.  As a collective effort, there is no doubt we will succeed.  This project is just beginning, so how far out do you think it will be till you start seeing a 2nd seed group.  Of course for now, its still alot of trial and error, but from what I've observed, the TAs are really good, nothing that they can't take and turn into learning material.  Standing in for Le'eylan tonight, I cannot say much more thanks to the folks, off all walks, nationalities, cultures; for the effort we are putting forth.  There is a Na'vi in all of us, as in the Hawaiian language 'He Pua Ke Aloha'  -  Love is a Flower  ;   'Ivong Na'vi  -  Let Na'vi bloom reflects that same spirit.

'Ivong Na'vi!

yes, ToV will soon become a large part of student independent study. I will begin making lessons which follow the presentations from the project so far. I also gotta get to that podcast as well. I am glad to hear that so many people think that PNgN is a good idea and enjoy being a part if it. I am beyond glad that I stepped up and put the idea of this project into action. thanks a pandoran ton, my TAs. :D and likewise to my awesome aynumeyu out there!

Yesh. Not so great. It doesn't help when the only noob in the room is the teacher and you spend the whole time rambling on. I think Esmond ragequit on us. Did use Dabbleboard, though, to play a little draw-what-the-hell-this-is and guess-what-the-hell-it-is, but I suck at drawing anything more than basic nouns and nekomimi. And I don't think that the Na'vi have a word for catgirl, ironically.

The problem is that a lot of the people who are around when +10 is on are not really the total n00bs PNgN is targeted at.

Hi,

Comments from a [almost] TA POV ... congrats guys, the new lessons (so far) look and play really well and it's great to use them in the lessons so far. Any negative aspects at present are so insignificant they are not worth worrying about ... awesome stuff!
