Kaltxì ma frapo!

My upcoming free days between Christmas and New Year's eve will be going mostly into completing the setup for a large project I'm hoping to launch next year. The idea is to broadcast an unspecificated number of programs over the channel in progress (justin.tv/emibh) about once a week. These programs will include educational shows, mere comedy, and other stuff I have not yet come up with. The problem of doing this as a livestream means that it's not rewatchable and for that purpose I will create sort of an archive over YouTube.

I will make up a list of ideas below that I will update many times in order to get the project bursting of the lovely heartwarming language. If you would like to add your idea to the list, just post it and I will add it if I think it's possible to do.

List of ideas:

  • Live Q&A Lessons about lì'fya leNa'vi
  • Skype eye to eye interviews with people known from the forums
  • Na'vi Sesamestreet
  • A Worldwide weather forecast in Na'vi
  • Na'vi News
  • Na'vi music sessions (including me singing along :P)

However, with only ideas this project will not succeed. I will cover most of the work myself, but as nobody's perfect (and I'm absolutely not perfect either) I might will need some help with things like 'Channel Art' (Think of a logo, a banner, a sig banner for the forums, a channel background, etc.). Another thing I really need help with is finding a nice, fitting name for the channel. The current name is EMIBH TV, but that just HAS to change. If you have a catchy, fitting name for this Na'vi TV-channel, please shout it out!

Checklist:

  • Create Channel
  • Test broadcasting
  • Change name
  • Make a schedule
  • Record try-out lessons
  • Channel Art
  • Script writing of Sesame Street nìNa'vi
  • Recording Pilot episode of Sesame Street nìNa'vi

VERY interesting idea. [posting for notify]

Wou, I would definitely watch this!

Great idea!

Plumps

Whoa, this is definitely interesting :)
I (and I am guessing Tirea did as well ;) :P ) thought of a radio program first but this is surely better (I like the Sesamestreet idea :P )

Tirea Aean

My radio idea would have been great if I had focused more on it, and poeple would have accepted my invitation to start their own live shows. But no one ever really followed through with that. :\

Seze

well, we can always advertise the TV show schedule on the radio stream...

"Ooh, ooh, ohh." *Puts hand up in the air and starts jumping.* "Me, me!"
Seriously, I always listen Tirea Radio while doing my homework.

:o I once applied, but yeah, that really never got through because we couldn't find something to stream songs I selected through the radio. Even though Seze then explained me how the radio worked, wich was translated by me into this:

But without getting off topic too much in my own topic. :P
I tested the stream again today, and now I use a third party program the webcam view is much better then directly through justin.tv's webcam option. Streaming my desktop is possible, but it is not crystalclear (far from that really...).

Nice to see that some people are indeed interested in a Na'vi TV Channel! :D

Can't Tirea Radio and this Live thing complement themselves in some way?

Kaltxi eejmensenikbenhet,

You probably will not have seen me much around here, although I have been very much in the background for some time helping with the organising of the AvatarMeet in Seattle next year, as you will see from my post count.

Where I have been since the beginning, though, is on Avatar-Forums and Tree of Souls, simply because at the time they were the only forums I was aware of at the time!  Yeah, I have led a sheltered life!  ;D

Anyway I saw your post and it immediately caught my attention.  I'm not sure what your intention is for programme duration, or how many broadcasts you intend doing etc, but I'm sure this will develop.

The thing that kinda goes through my head is that I am wondering if there is or should be an Avatar Fan Media Group.  The reason being I have seen a number of Avatar related radio/podcast stations pop up and there is of course the Avatar Nation guys too.  I was involved in making the Avatar fan film Our Only Home and one or two more since then.

So it seems there are quite a number of us interested in the media side of things and using it as a way to bring Avatar fans together and share our interest and what it means to us.  It might be a way of pooling our skills, content, ideas and support each other's projects.  Just a thought anyway.

You mentioned you were looking for someone to help with 'Channel Art'.  I may be able to help there as I can do a bit of computer animation if you have some ideas of what you are after.

Just one other thought for you to consider:  When you are ready, have you thought about letting the other fan forums know too?  There are a lot of fans out there.  ;)

All the best with your project ma 'eylan.

Kame ngat ma Alan,

Thank you for your reply. I have seen your post with Our only Home, and I've watched the movie. Good work on that, all of you who have contributed.

I  have never heard of anything like a media group, but I can definately see something like that happening in the future. Maybe something to get working on once the channel is up and living. We could think of connections between the media-providing parties, both audio and video. Don't know exactly how though.

And yes, I am indeed looking for someone to help me out. Considering Channel Art, I wasn't really imagining too animated things (read: a banner, logo and background, in my opinion, should not be too distracting and thus I thought them to be more abstract and clear). Though, combining with the final thing you mention (the other fan forums) I had a little idea jumping inside my head:
What about a poster to promote the channel to the Na'vi and Avatar loving world? I could definately see some nice animation work in there, not? The poster will then be able to contain all the information needed and it will be easily possible to post it on another forum. Could you send me some things you've made so I can get an idea of what direction you're in with your animation work? Based on that, I could sketch a first poster.

Lastly, I will send you a Personal Message about another thing... You'll see.

I will be doing a test-stream today, starting at around 12:00 GMT. Don't know how long it's going to be or what it will be about, but I guess we'll see.

Hope to see you as a viewer today! When there's no one watching I won't be doing much so...

eejmensenikbenhet

Going live in a little less then 10 minutes, be sure to come and check it out. I really need your support and criticism to get the best out of this.

1200 UTC is too early for me. Today no good for me, Im riding to work right now as I type this post on my Android phone.

What time(of the day) and which days do you plan on normally broadcasting? I dont remember if you will air re-runs, but that would be a KOSMANA idea to do for those of us who cannot possibly catch a 1200 UTC show live. :)

eejmensenikbenhet

Well, I've been streaming about one and a half our now (just taking a little break, getting something to drink) and I will go on as long as I can so people from all around the world can view. I have no set time-plans yet, but the broadcasts will always be on the channel log for seven days so people can rewatch them.

Tirea Aean

oh cool good to know tht broadcasts are good for a week. if it were possible to watch on a phone, I would be watching now.
