Kaltxì ma oeyä eylan,

I guess most of us have already seen Pawl's latest Na'viteri message about the sad circumstances in the US. I think it would be a nice gesture to voice our support by sending him a response from the entire lì'fyaolo'. Because Pawl has always appreciated hearing our voices (he has asked for voice recordings for his blog several time), I had the idea to make a recording of his blogpost together. So I cut up the post into pieces, the idea being that everyone can take one or two pieces to record. Then I'll edit these recordings together.

If you want to participate, which I'd really appreciate, please pick a piece from the table above, and reply in this topic (or send me a DM on Discord) so I can update the table with your name. It doesn't matter how good you are at pronouncing Na'vi! (I know that my pronunciation isn't going to be perfect either ;) ) I'm sure Pawl will be able to appreciate everybody's efforts, even if it is not perfect.

I really hope this project will work out. I'd like to send this relatively soon, so it would be great if everyone could get their recordings to me, say, tomorrow (Thursday June 4) at the latest. Then I'll edit on June 5 and send it off.

Irayo nìli ma frapo!

Toliman

This is very good idea and I agree with you completelly.

Unfortunatelly... my pronunciation of Na'vi is really bad :(

eejmensenikbenhet

Txantsan nì'aw!
I'm more than happy to record any of the lines.
Maybe "Nìfya'o a pamrel soli..." would be nice (if no one else has already called dibs on that one :P).

It doesn't need to be perfect! Alternatively, you can just record the first and last lines (Ma oeyä eylan ayawne / ta Pawl sì lì'fyaolo' nìwotx). I'm planning to try to mix these lines so that everyone can be heard at the same time.

Tam, irayo! Added you to the table.

Kosmana säfpìl nì'aw.

I'd select Ulte tengkrr fayhem ...

Okay, it sounds good for me... maybe I will try record just that first and last lines. I should be able to do it today at evening, I hope.

Pencil me in for the third and/or fifth lines. I'll record both, so if we need to do two lines each it'll be good to go.
Oeyä ayswizawri tswayon alìm ulte takuk nìngay.
My arrows fly far and strike true.

Vawmataw

seems like only two lines remain for you ma Wllìm ;D

Irayo nìli! I prefer the Fratrr 'erul a faysäleymkem ... one (updated the table).

So then we are officially complete :D But if others still want to join: you can take one of the parenthesized names in the table. Just let me know... the more voices, the better IMO!

Okay, challenge acccepted!
I will try record "Fpxamoa fìkemìl afpxamo ayoeti tsngeykolawvìk, tsakrr leykoleymkem" (Alìm's second line)

Txantsan!

I just have a few questions:

Quote
frapo   Ma oeyä eylan ayawne,

How fast / slow will everyone be saying this? I think the less variation in speed, the more understandable the result will be of layering everyone's version together. Or will you be normalizing the speed of recordings if necessary to make this smoother?

Quotefrapo   ta Pawl (sì lì'fyaolo' nìwotx)

Same question as above with this one, and also: Will we speak aloud the part in paretheses?

I assume that each one of these lines is its own audio file? (meaning, that someone who has one line assigned submits 3 files because of the two "frapo" lines?)

Idk how other people did it but I sent to Wllìm each line as own audio file.

Ma Toliman, irayo! (Updated the table.)

Ma Tirea, it seems I was a bit too late to answer your questions before you recorded :P But it doesn't matter because your recordings sound very nice, ha irayo!

I don't know exactly how this will turn out. I'll try to make it understandable, but I'm obviously not an audio engineer, so no promises. If it really doesn't work out, I'll just pick a single recording and use that.

I was thinking yes (but I put parentheses around it, because it's of course not in Pawl's original post).

In case someone still wants to record: I can handle both separate files or one big file.

Tomorrow I'll of course have to work, so I'll be able to make the final mix only in the evening (European time, so around noon in the USA I guess?). So if you want to submit a sentence still, my inbox will stay open until then  :)

Makes sense. I hope that it works out that everyone's recs can be used there :)

Also makes sense. I kinda thought that this might be the case, so I recorded that part aloud just in case :)

Yeah, another voice(s) would be nice, as Wllìm said: the more voices, the better :)
But in any case good that we already have recorded all lines :)

Irayo! I'm now working on editing.

Unfortunately I haven't received EMIBH's audio yet. I gave my sentence to Yayayr, and I will do EMIBH's sentence. EMIBH, if you still want to join, you can still take Txawey's sentence (please let me know as soon as possible, irayo!).
