Ok. Are you in school atm or not?
Not for quite some years unfortunately. :D

RP certainly isn't taught any more but in my experience Queen's English is.
RP/Queen's English/King's English/Oxford English and BBC English are names for the same thing... so I'll take it as a good sign then if you're having contact with it in some form - even if not to a level as to make you sound like a 1950s BBC newsreader. :)

I'm afraid I'll have to be pedantic here RP is the pronunciation and Queen's English includes RP but also refers to using correct/formal/traditional grammar. I was referring to the last part still being taught even if the pronunciation isn't.

It's a shame people aren't getting taught RP much at all though.

Pedantic, but only a tiny bit :) and quite right nonetheless - Queen's English refers to written English as well. Something that slipped my mind there since we were talking about pronunciation.

But a good thing to point out - since yes, I believe they are still at least trying to teach kids grammar from that "standard". I see what you're saying now.
